That little R3 looks the ding dang doolies .......on a side note I once had someone ask me if my old R6 was an R125, outside a bike shop of all places.....I felt insulted to say the least

Well not my bike, its my sons but I've put up his other bikes so here goes with the latest.

First off let me tell you, this bike has surprised me more than any other bike I've rode in the last thirty years, and I said it only half joking that if Kawasaki was to remake Yamaha's RD350 then this is what it would look and ride like!!.

    A new'ish (2016 & 1500km) Kawasaki ER6n.. The thing is a fooking hooligan lol.

If he'll let me I'll get up some wheelie photos, but after yesterdays shinnanigans I'm not sure he'll be letting me take it out too often!.

    Such a surprising bike :D

Does it have a power band like the old RD350?

Nope, and the famous 'power band' went with the YPVS anyway.

Hey leave my glen alone, furry or not :p (yup, Pheonix Park).

Tell you what its secret is to me.

I thought 'meh, a 650 twin can't be nothing more than a decent commuter' ~ but crack open the gas and 'Yippeeeee, now we're talking!.

But for me its tiny, and I think I must have looked ridiculous on it otherwise I'd be considering one for the craic.

We had looked at the Yamaha MT07 first, but the build quality was much in comparison to the ER6. Nothing looked properly finished on it.

He's delighted with his choice, and so was I :D

I had a couple of both versions. The YPVS had a more smoothed version of the powerband. The original RD350LC had a lunatic sharp powerband that just begged to be flogged. Ah, happy memories

Yup, I'd a few myself. But have you rode one recently?.

We look at the RD's with rose tinted specs sometimes. They're really very dated now. A nice collectors item, but not a bike I'd like to live with anymore.

No, not ridden one for a long time. I do remember the spindly forks flexing though and the tubular frame that felt like it was hinged.
I really don't know how I managed not to kill myself off them.
5% rider skill and 95% luck I suppose.

And the rear drum, and wooden front brakes. And they're tiny too.

But anyway, the comparison. I'd huge fun on this little unassuming little ER6.

Its a really surprising little bike.

went out for a few hours spin with a guy with a super four yesterday, this picture was taken just after my bike had been running fine and when we went to go our separate ways mine wouldn't start lol

Had a short go on the super four, my first go on a 4 cylinder bike.. was great fun, had more of a fizz going than being on my own bike.

    .

Saw one about a year ago, absolutely immaculate, its either in a museum or written off at this stage, so much power on such a light bike, wreckless me would
buy one in an act :D

Not sure about that M,maybe not for top end but for acceleration and driving through traffic it was a winner

Don't forget that when the RD was new, the likely cars would have been 1.1 Escorts and Cortina:pac:
These days midrange cars have 150hp...
