    Hi John,

I'm looking for a 50" plasma for use with dvd, HD movies from something like the wdtv or xtremer and some Wii gaming. Will also probably connect up a lidl freesat system I have.

Have a budget of approx 800 euro. Maybe a bit more depending on the tv.

    What do you suggest?

LG 50PS3000 on richer sounds is a 50" Plasma, full HD and £699 (about €825). Was looking at them there myself, seems like a good TV.

    Hi Cmar.

The 50PS3000 would be one of the best 50's around at the mo as there has just been a price drop on it. It's now £699.

We have a Samsung at similar money (http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/samsung/ps50b451/sams-ps50b451), but the spec on the LG out performs the Samsung.

The LG has the 600Hz sub field technology and is full 1080p as well.

We do have a really good deal on a Panasonic 46" which is the freesat model. It's a TH46PZ81 which is £849.95. This is a full 1080p screen that also has some nice bells and whistles and has received some great reviews. I know it's a bit more expensive (and smaller) but I thought I would mention it as it's a better TV than the LG and may have some features that you like.

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info. I'm interested in the LG alright, but do you have any Samsung series 5 models? I know the b4 model has replaced it, but some places were clearing the PS50A5xx models for around €850-900.

    Thanks

    Cmar,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you (ill deserved few days off :o) - we are completely cleaned out of the PS50 series - however would you consider the LG 50PQ6000 - I know it's a good bit cheaper at £699 but it both looks stunning and really does have great picture quality - Daves suggestion of the TH46PZ81 at £849 as well is interesting as it has HD Freesat on board, comes with a 5 year warranty as standard and is a cracking TV as well!

Again, apologies for the delay in getting back to you and please do keep me posted if we can assist in any way,

    Hi John,

    Hope you enjoyed your holiday!

I'm really looking for a full HD set. The 50PS did seem to fit the bill. When do you think you will have more stock?
At that price, what else do you recommend for a 50" FHD set?

    Thanks

    Cmar,

I have no incoming date unfortunately - I have chased purchasing but they have no white smoke for me either - I'll keep a weather eye out for you and post as soon as I hear anything positive.

    Thanks again,

Given the strength of the LG range this year - that's a compliment - you should have a look at them - LG is kicking this season!

The only other option is the likes of the new Panasonic's but they are mega money compared to that deal we got on the 46".

    Panasonic TXP50S10 - £999.
    5 Year warranty - £99.95 -
    Freesat box - £119.95 -
    TH46PZ81 - Priceless.

    If Mastercard did TV's.....

Seriously though, the 46" is a great deal as like for like, the 50" is £370 more expensive than the 46PZ81 and you're not really getting a lot more for your money.

As manager of the Belfast store, I would have agree with John (for obvious reasons !!!!) on the LG thing. Their screens are really good this year and very good value for money but I still think that Panasonic is a hard one to beat for crazy deal that we have on it.

    Cheers

    John / Dave,

Thanks for the info, but I want to hold out for the 50" LG or Samsung FHD at around the £699 price range.
Can you get one from one of the UK RS shops?

I will be getting a Panny for the other room, more than likely a 46" G10. But thats a few months away.

I'm hoping I can get the 50" within the next few weeks.

    Thanks
    Ciaran
