Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey
Posted here before but need some more advice :o
have a 99 corsa, 100k miles and due the tax & nct.
it needs a new converter and i seem to be shelling out more & more on it, i've been looking a newer car for ages & feel it's time for it to go.
the question is should i go to a garage and try and trade in if i see a car i like or should i pay for the converter & it's fitting and then sell privately?
advice greatly appreciated :) i went to a local garage this morning and they'll allow me about 300 - 400 for it.

Trading the Corsa in against another car is doing you no favour as the dealer is only taking it off your hands, it's really worth nothing to him. You would be better off buying the new car without trading in the Corsa, negotiating a better straight deal (no trade-in) discount which will be more than you were allowed for the Corsa.

I would cut my losses on the Corsa to be honest and just sell it cheaply to someone for parts or a fixer upper.
