Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Macmillian does predictions, this does the real results : Pearl Imuzi BHAA 10km Results. Great to see so many boardies out in their new singlets.

The difference here is that I'm all woman, was even running in a skirt today, and they STILL thought I was a man. :pac:

    Last time I checked, I wasn't *that* butch-looking!

They've got the gender (and age) wrong with others too e.g. Donna from Rathfarnham.

Excellent race. Lots of PB's alright but you know I don't think the course was that fast. Maybe I'm talking nonsence but I'm giving myself extra brownie points cause I thought it was tough.

Good to meet some boardsies. I was a bit shy and should have introduced myself to more people :o

Still on cloud 9 with my PB. I took 5 mins off my Bupa time earlier this year. I rewarded myself with a few biscuits, which was a nice touch....made sure woddle didn't catch me after reading the nutrition thread ;)

Just found a photo of myself. I'll have to shave my shoulders in future to wear the vest. The more hair I lose off my head the more its growing on the rest of my body. The things men have to put up with:rolleyes:

Great race and great to meet up with folks. Some fantastics times by the boardsies

As for my own performance, not sure what went wrong and it took all my will power not to DNF. I think my cold was a little more as my legs went dead before I was out of breath. Onwards and upwards though.

Photos from the day on RacePix365 now - not bad going getting 225 considering myself and Woddle were running. All Boards AC ones here.

Some stunning ones from Alituv which make it hard to believe we were running in Dublin!

Did everyone get two Powerbars in their Goodie bag? Thought that was awesome.

Did everyone get two Powerbars in their Goodie bag? Thought that was awesome.

    Thanks for pics.

I wanted to ask people about these bars actually (powerbar special edition). I used most of one this morning during a 16 miler. I was feeling really fatigued around 6miles and kept thinking negative thoughts, just wasn't enjoying the run. Decent breakfast, so it wasn't that. I put it down to the race yesterday. I had a bit of the bar and after a few mins felt so much better. This could be placebo but I looked at the bar and it said "double caffeine" on the label. I'm sensitive to caffeine and a cup of coffee usually gets me well wired.

Like I said could be placebo but I'm gonna try the second one out during next weeks lsr. Might even try a cup of coffee before my next run. I know coffee isn't great for hydration or (I heard) helping with digestion but might see what happens.

Anyway, Stupid Private I thought that was pretty good alright. These things seem to sit in my stomach a lot better than the gels and they taste a lot better too.

    Thanks for the pix. Brilliant.

I have to disagree about the powerbars. I can't stomach them. Gave mine to BB after.

Was there supposed to be a redeemable 10 euro voucher in the bag, in place of a t-shirt? None in my bag. Mind you if there was a voucher I'm not sure when I'd be near The Long Mile road to use it

I'd have to agree with my team mate! Maybe they are useful but they taste just awful. Still have my 2nd one, might keep it in my pocket on next long run..

Hey Great pics, but was there another company taking photos and you can buy them online? Can't remember the name, but saw the adverts for them. I know it wasn't one of the usual companies like ASI? Cheers.

Daniel sent me on a slideshow of his photos from the race that can be seen on facebook (you don't need to be a member to see the video). It has some of his photos that he didn't post to flickr. There was music on his original but I'm not too up to date on copyright lark so thought it safer to remove.

EDIT - The Boards AC team shot is in there as well. Last photo IIRC

There appears to be something called the Grant Thornton 10k on in Firhouse at roughly the same time this year...

This was good craic last year. Peckham and KevinKilbane became the first winners of the trophy, anyone know if its still hanging around? Although Pearl Izumi aren't doing it this year the BHAA have a new organiser and its the same course etc. Last year the format was that anyone interested put down their predicted 10k time and the teams of two were made up of pairing the number 1 seed with the bottom seed, number 2 seed with the second to bottom seed, etc and the winners were deemed the pair with the lowest combined time. The race is on Sat morning 11th September.
    So, who's in?

Racing it anyway so i will be up for this if it extends to non BAC members. Could even try start a perpetual trophy for the winners each year to replace the Pearl Izumi prizes?
