Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After 25mins we are looking very ordinary, at best. Too many loose passes.

Well deserved goal. Celtic have controlled most of the possession and I can't believe Dinamo have held out for over 130 minutes with all the chances created against them.

On the ball Fox is so much cooler than Naylor. N'Guemo is playing very well, Donati doing well too, but both prone to a loose pass. Most players doing well tbh but we always look vulnerable defensively.

1 more goal and they'll need to score 2 so that's a nice comfort to have.

The tempo of Mowbray's team is unreal. They don't give the opposition a second.

Totally agree, we're all over them, its only a matter of time now :D

Fingers crossed lads. while we have had a fair bit of possession we have not been very constructive with it. Fortune has given it away a fair bit. Still, given the chances i knew one would go in eventually for us.

Celtic 1-up at half time and playing well.

Yeh looking good so far, well impressed with Fox, he actually looks like he knows what to do when he has the ball unlike Naylor. Im not Mo Mo's biggest fan but he hasnt been too bad so far, N'guemo looks decent aswell, good engine. Lets hope the russians fitness levels wont be a factor if it goes to extra time.

No not really they might have been guilty of sitting back a wee bit but I think its more that Celtic are just hungrier and are closing them down quickly giving them no time on the ball and forcing mistakes.

Stream for anyone interested. Sound isn't great but sure as long as you can see it that's the main thing.

    Great clearance by Hinkel phew!

Celtic should really be putting this game to bed. Dinamo Moscow though absolutely woeful thus far, they've had a good few chances in the last 10 minutes or so.

They may be right, since the break we havnt looked great, Dinamo really pushing on and have had a couple of chances inc a goalline clearance. McDonald had a half chance aswell that just went wide but Moscow really on the ascendance (SP?) Here comes Scot Brown, hmm not sure if he should be, there is potentially another hour left in this game and he has barely kicked a ball since his op.

    Samaras on for McDonald.

Few reckless challenges going in the last few minutes. Tight game for Celtic when they looked so comfortable in the second half.

Not a thing the keeper would do, was right in the corner and he was only 7 yards out. Blame the defenders for letting him dance accross the box like that.

nice play tho to take it on his chest and have the drive to get in there.

Another round with some top teams in it I think?

Have to say Celtic's defence looks as tight as I've ever seen it lately. They've only conceded one goal I believe in their pre-season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,678 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

There goes the brutal away record in europe
    Fair play

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,178 ✭✭✭Bob the Seducer

Hinkel had a good game tonight, probably one of the best I've seen him play. Any idea when the draw for the next round is?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,013 ✭✭✭✭eirebhoy

Absolutely delighted. A well deserved win. They'll get unbelievable confidence from that win. 1 chance and Mowbray breaks the away day run.

These are the teams that Celtic could get right?

    1 Arsenal FC (ENG)
    2 Olympique Lyonnais (FRA)
    3 VfB Stuttgart (GER)
    4 ACF Fiorentina (ITA)
5 Club Atlético de Madrid (SPA)

Friday. Celtic can draw Arsenal, Lyon, Shakhtar/Stuttgart (depending whether Shakhtar win tonight), Panathanaikos or Sporting.

Fiorentina, Atletico and maybe Stuttgart won't be seeded, along with Anderlecht and Celtic. So Arsenal can draw these.

Scott Brown was phenomenal when he came on and you could see the rest of the players reacting to him, was also very impressed with both Fox and Nguemo and also Boruc seems to be in a happier place thank god!

What a performance. Best away european performance in several years by the bhoys. Brilliant relentless attacking finally got what it deserved. Great stuff!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,907 ✭✭✭Badabing

Not bothered who we get really as eirebhoy said the teams confidence will be sky high, midfield looks excellent really dynamic and great work rate which was lacking under Strachan.

Brown is a class act. Can't wait to see the team now with him in it. Still worried that a team will come in with an 8 figure sum before the window closes.

Absolutely delighted with new bhoy fox at the back, thought he was sublime, excellent! Entire team were very impressive, great game to give the team confidence going into the season. Smiles around.

Surprised by the lack of votes for McDonald in the motm thread's on Celtic forums. I thought he was class. His goal, his flicks, his hold up play.
