    Hi Serarra.

Can I just ask a question of you before I send you a quote ?

Is the Yamaha NSP110 as far as you can go in terms of the speaker package as the Sony is capable of a lot more than the Yamaha can reproduce ?

If you are on a budget, then I totally understand. I personally would match the Sony up with a better speaker package.

    Regards

    Dave

I would be able to go a little further, but not too much (already on the limit of the budget)
The speakers would be installed in a room around 4 meters by 6 meters (not too big), so I don't need a lot of power.
In any case, if not these speakers, which ones do you recommend me?

An the blue ray player, the LG BD370 instead would be better (the samsung is finished, last units to clear, and the LG is DVD free region as far as I can see)

I asked as well through the mail, Kenny has been following up the mails with me (will go next weekend to pick up the stuff, but if you think some other speakers would be better, let me know (and Kenny), so we can change the order. (And, any "special price" available to boardies as well???)

    Serarra,

The system price for the following:

    Sammy LE40B650 LCD
    Sony STRDA2400 AV Receiver
    Yamaha NSP110 5.1 Speakers
    Sony BDPS350 MR Blu-ray

Would be £1334.80 / €1599.99 However you should have a look at the following system which I feel will give you better quality AND save you money!

    Philips 42PFL7404H 42" LCD TV
    Denon AVR1910 7.1 AV Receiver
    Philips BDP3000 Blu-Ray
    Tannoy SFX 5.1 Speaker system

We can do this system at £1319 and each component is better!

Have a look at that system and if you are interested please do drop me a line and give me a shout back if you have any queries,

    Thanks again,
    ATB,

    Hi John,
Looks nice, but the blue ray player is not region free (or multi region) and I do have lots of american dvd´s.
If it were possible to convert it to region free, would not be a problem, but i cannot find any codes on the web. (Don´t mind about blue ray being region free, only DVDs)

The Amplifier, looks good (only drawback is the GUI, but apart from that it looks good)
    Speakers, ok.

Now, the TV. Don't know how this one does against the samsung, but the samsung has net tv as well (don't really need it, but is an extra)

    Serarra,

YEP I agree re. the BDP3000 we are working hard to crack it to MR, but we are failing at the moment

The Sammy does have NET access however it is restricted to certain sites whilst the Philips allows open net browsing (and IMO has a significantly better picture and especially audio quality.)

    The AMP is just stunning!

    Keep me posted!

I thought this TV doesn´t have net access at all? That it was only USB? And no Ambilight. (That was on the 8404, 7404 is a 8404 without the net and the ambilight, am I right?)

And the net access, I meant to use with internal connection (samba), no youtube widgets and so on. But yes, if the Philips is able to do that, then would be better.

Now that we were talking about the 8404, is there any way to get a similar package with that tv (42pfl8404) (then would be really interested, because of the ambilight)

I had seen that the difference between both tvs is around 200 euros (7404 806€, 8404 1006€ in komplett.ie)

  • Registered Users Posts: 109 ✭✭serarra

Hi, any chance of getting this TV on the pack instead of the 7404?

  • Company Representative Posts: 9,478 ✭✭✭Richersounds.ie: John

    Serarra,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you - I can do the 8404 in the kit slightly better than the extra €200 you guessed (you were not too far out tho!).

    Philips 42PFL7404H 42" LCD TV
    Denon AVR1910 7.1 AV Receiver
    Philips BDP3000 Blu-Ray
    Tannoy SFX 5.1 Speaker system

    ....£1449.95 / €1699 in total.

...and yes I agree that the Ambilight and the NET TV is really worth the difference!

    Keep me posted..

    Thanks again,

    Hi John,
For that price, I would really be interested in that package instead of the samsung (I was already going for that one)
As I said before, I was talking to Kenny about the previous configuration, and he was going to try to get the sony amplifier as there was none in stock.

If possible, as you recomend, I would go for this one instead of that package, so could you please tie up with Kenny? (Don't want to mess around, so if the amp has been ordered expresely for me, and all the stuff, would go for the old config, but I would really like this new one (looks a lot better, more with the ambilight (was not checking it originally because of the price difference))

My mail, the one I was using with kenny, is serarra @ gmail

    Thanks in advance.

    Serarra,

Don't worry Kenny is up to speed (like Father Ted on the Milk float) and I love ruining his sales anyway!

I really do think that is a much better system for you and better value as well and I hope you enjoy it!

Drop me a line if we can assist in any way and as ever thanks for the business - its much appreciated!

It was Dougal on the milk float not Ted, so I hope that doesn't mean Kenny isn't up to speed! :p

God you are right - how could I forget it was Dougal - especially as Kenny reminds us all of Dougal in every way (except he does not support Man U)

    Amazing.
Ordered everything yesterday (Thursday), the guys from richersounds gave me a call in order to arrange payment, and they called the guys in the philips shop in Dublin for them to bring me the TV (I even had the option to have it yesterday!!!)
Everything arrived this morning (Tv from Dublin, amp, speakers, etc from Belfast)
Still hadn't had time to connect everything, but I think I'm having a busy weekend ahead of me... :D

    Thanks guys.
