Question on a '+' symbol beside my name

When I am viewing a forum, and at the bottom of the page where it has a list of users who are currently viewing that forum, why is there a '+' sign beside my name?

Usually this indicates people on your Friends list. Why it would appear beside your on name I don't know, unless you befriended yourself.

If a + sign is present beside a user, it indicates that you're friends with that user.

As to why you would see one beside your own name? I don't have a clue.

How did you do it? I've seen a few people who are friends with themselves, yet I can't see where to add myself...

I tried to ignore myself but got a Boards.ie Message;

"we can't help you ignore yourself"
