    This has probably been asked 100's of times but here goes...
    To subscribe, is paypal the only route ?

    For the moment, it is unfortunately. Any other options are just not feasible. If you have a credit card, you don't need a PayPal account to pay via PayPal, and you can also get prepaid credit cards from www.3v.ie if you don't have one.
