    Why more poll?

You're either a cat person or a dog person.

There's gotta be one that you'ld prefer over the other...

    The cuteness of cats...
    or
    The affection of dogs...

A good dog can kill rats too. Dogs all the way.

Fair enough, I went with dogs for companionship

my cat is very affectionate though, I dunno where people get the idea that they aren't =/

Cats can be cute but they're so bloody self centred, it's all about them.

Dogs are the best. My dog is currently asleep on a cushion at my feet, and if I get up she'll probably want to come with me cos she gets lonely. She's nearly 14, my old lady is. A wee doll.

cats can be very affectionate but they're not team players /pack members like dogs... So they don't show it the same way.

She comes for walks with me :)

Pro tip. When a cat rolls on to its back and shows you its tummy it probably does not want you to rub it. Doing so will get you scratched. There are a few schools of thought on this... One, It's a cunning ploy or trap... An other is that the cat is showing you that they trust you not to attack their soft belly and you just did. So they attack you back...
Either way when the cat is on its back remember 5 out of 6 ends are pointy and now they can bring all those weapons to bare...
