Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is why I love the Premier league, a charity shield, pre season friendly essentially, fought to the bitter end with such passion.

    Smashing game :)

Foster's gonna lose this for us. Just sheer psychological advantage he's giving Chelsea by looking so nervous.

Decent game, keenly competed. Good marker set by Chelsea with their overall second half performance, and it will do them no harm whatsoever psychologically to win a shootout.

    it's a glorified friendly.

losing in normal time would have been far worse for the confidence.

losing on penalties in a friendly, they can live with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Very enjoyable game overall and I think Chelsea were right to play on and score their second goal.

Good game, enjoyable. Roll on next week with Foster between the posts.

Losing it in normal time feels more like a loss to me. I see the game as a draw now. The CS doesn't mean much to me - i'd like United to have won it obviously but i don't particularly care that we did not. If we lost it in normal time it would have had more of the appearance of us not being as good as chelsea, the fact we held them in normal gives the appearance it was an even game.

Can't wait ;) Have a feeling it will be Cusack myself (I know that that is the incorrect spelling).

I would have said the opposite, loosing in 90 mins at least utd could have used the ref as an excuse and had that injustice going forward and use it to fuel the next game against Chelski, now they dont and Evra and Co will always have those poor peno's in the back of their minds next time they step up to take one.

Doesnt matter anyways, real business starts next week, wasnt a bad game.
