    Hi Guys
I'm looking for a tv for around 600 euro ,its going into a room 13x16,I am drifting toward panasonic ,phillips or sony (not closed to other options),I like the look of the Panasonic TXP32G10 and the Philips 37PFL5604 obviously these days I am looking for biggest bang for my hard earned buck and would as far as possible futureproof the tv.Most viewing Sky and ps3

    Minilab,

Thanks for the post & apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Ok we have F I N A L L Y started to see some stocks of the 37PFL5604H which is a great TV and we can do this at EURO €689.99 - however if you are open to the 32" option you really should have a look at the 7404 series - the 32PFL7404H is on special at the moment at just €629.99 and at that money there is no 32" on the market to touch it!

Drop me a line if you are interested in any of the above and again, thanks for the post,

    ATB,

    Hi John
thanks for getting back are the prices for collection from Belfast or delivered to ROI?
I think that after a chat with the better half we will probably go with a 32" screen ,are there any other sets of a similar spec for comparison or is the phillips really out on its own
    thanks

    Hi Guys

That seems a fairly big room, will 32" be big enough ? What do you think your viewing distance will be from the TV? You could take the dimensions from the links, and do a mock-up with cardboard or newspaper to get a feel for the size in the room.

    Hi
probably be sitting about 10' from the screen ,but we dont want the screen to dominate the room

Fair enough, I am pretty sure a 32" won't dominate.

Just FYI, my parents were looking a new TV a while back, going from a 28" CRT to a 32" maximum they thought, however when I went shopping for it with them, I managed to sway them to buy a 37". It looks just about right in their living room which I believe is slightly smaller than yours. To be honest even a 42" might have looked great.

I guess just be sure equally the TV isn't lost in the room.........a matter of preference though. Good Luck with your purchase.

It your own business of course but a 32" from that distance is pointless. A nice 37" wouldn't look out of place.

    thanks for the feedback
the situation with the 28" CRT is exactly what we have along with we are moving into a room we have just built onto the house so there is no furniture to help us judge, the old living room is 13x13 .In my original post I was mentioning 37" phillips perhaps I will look again at the 37" option as you say I dont want the tv to be lost in the room either
    thanks again

    Dean,

as you will see from the recent posts here from Boardies - this seasons Philips range is really excellent and because there is intense price competition at the moment on the 5/7/8 series the deals really are excellent.

....(Normal 20% Commission cheque on the way Mollers..)

Seriously 'tho we do appreciate and respect that for some rooms a TV should be a secondary feature!

And Mini - I forgot to mention that those prices include delivery to gerater Dublin or Belfast - outside those areas deliver would be an additional €11.99

    Thanks again guys,

    Dean,

Thanks a million for taking the time to post us - much appreciated - and thanks for the kind comments about the crew - we do have to toss them the odd compliment every so often!

Isn't the new 7404 just the dog's dangly bits?? I hope the guys told you to spend some time setting it up as this range (74/84) really does need you to spend some time on getting the picture right and not just settling for the 'out of box' settings.

Thanks again and as ever if we can assist in ANY way just drop us a line and we will do our best,

    ATB,
