So Mayo, who hammered Roscommon and beat Galway without being brilliant, are gone. Did they choke again on the big day out?

Galway beaten by a Donegal team who were then annihilated by Cork.

Sligo pipped by Kerry, but in all fairness never looked like beating them.

Roscommon accounted for by a Meath team who never got out of first gear.

    Leitrim beaten by Longford.

Is Connacht football gone down the jacks, or was this year just a blip? Opinions?

Leinster and Connaught are quite inferior to Ulster and Munster. This decade, Munster and Ulster have take all but one All Ireland Title. Leinster have not had a representative in the final since 2001, and the appearences by Mayo in the final have been less then glorious.

Some work needs to be done on province Number3 and Province Number 4

Galway bad day at office against an extremley unpredicable Donegal..Mayo choked but also robbed..Roscommon are just a poor team so are Leitrim but Sligo gave a team that beat the dubs by 17 point a close game gave Galway close game too..! and I dont like the way u judge say that because mayo bearly beat a team that were beat by a team that got hammered...wrong way to look at things! but Connaught football in dissaray but dont Mayo and Roscommon have very very strong underage teams..yeah..? and do Galway have good underage teams?

No way would Cork have beaten Galway the same way they beat Donegal. Donegal or notoriously unpredictable and on another occasion could put Cork to the pin of their collar. It's championship football and apart from the big guns like Kerry, Tyrone and Cork getting through, pretty much anything could happen. Who would have predicted Meath would be in the All-Ireland semi-final last January?

Sligo ran Kerry very close in the qualifier, who then went on to hammer Leinster champions Dublin last week. Does this imply that Leinster football is weak? Simple fact of the matter is that with the coming of the qualifier route Provincial boundaries have practically no relevance anymore. Supposed weaknesses in Galway have as much in common with those in Laois and Wexford as they do with Roscommon and Mayo. Another thought - 2 of the current last 4 played outside Division 1 of the league this year - what does this say about the validity of National league?

The first thing to do is get rid of London and New York. They add no benifit to the competition for the 5 Connacht counties and only add expense to the various County Boards. Let them play with someone else for a change.

I relaise a grant comes from Connacht Council for it but these trips do not help the greater cause. The money could go to better use in the training fund.

We need to have a Open Table Championship style competition - Home and Away. Maybe even do it in Connacht.
The 5 Counties play the other 4 home and away. Top 2 contest final. It wouldn't bother any other provence.

And clubs won't be affected by an 8 match at least competition? I would rather see the loser to the annual Galway - Mayo match go into the qualifiers early to build some momentum and have more form than just losing the Connacht Final and losing the next match 6 days later. Look at how it helped Donegal and possibly Kerry (depending on how they play the next match).

6 days after losing a Provincial final hardly helps anybody.

Get rid of the FBD League to facilitate it.;)
