Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

303 cleaner - Best interior cleaner?

The door panels on my car have become quite faded, and the lower part is badly scuffed. I have tried a number of products to clean the door panels (eg. autoglym interior shampoo, BMW interior cleaner etc), but I have found them to be completely ineffective. These two 303 products were recomended to me as the best interior cleaners available:

    303 Cleaner & Spot Remover

    303 Aerospace Protectant
    http://www.detailedimage.com/303-M2/Aerospace-Protectant-P12/16-oz-S1/

The only problem is that shipping is around 50 dollars from the States. Anyone know if it's possible to get these products with a more reasonable delivery rate?

And secondly, are these the best products to use when cleaning the interior?

    Thanks.

Give Daragh from here http://www.detailing.ie/ a call, that's where I got my 303.

    Thanks. Does he run smartfinishcare.com?

If so, I think he only has the 303 protectant on his website. I wanted to get the cleaner as well to use beforehand.

Are the 303 products any good? Would you recommend them?

As you can see from the pics below, the door panels are quite faded. Would the 303 cleaner and protectant bring them back to life- I'm looking for a product that will restore the interior to the condition it was in when it was new, without leaving a greasy feel.

The 303 Aerospace Protectant is very good in that it is a water based dressing which is best for maintaining vinyl or plastic trim. It leaves a low gloss rather than a shiny or greasy finish. One of the best products for plastic and rubber, inside or out.

The 303 Cleaner is generic enough, so I wouldn't expect miracles v other products. Any good cleaner not overly diluted should shift dirt and stains if agitated with a soft bristle brush. I have even used Gliptone leather spray cleaner on vinyl door panels and it also works very well. Those white/grey patches in the photos aren't paint of some sort, because I am surprised if they are just dirt and grime that the cleaners you have used haven't shifted them.

The other thing I would say is that scuffs are more like scratches, so you will not really remove them. The dressing might tone them down a little. They will also darken the vinyl somewhat, but it will not last if the Sun / UV light has faded them grey already. Had they been used from new, well then the colour wouldn't have faded so much by now.

I get stuff off Daragh also, so no harm giving him a call as he definitely has more gear than is on his website.

Thanks for the reply Tom. The white patches on the door panels are just dirt deeply ingrained into the vinyl, definitely not paint.

Is there anything you would recommend as a general cleaner which could be used along with the aerospace protectant?

Son of a gun (STP) its general purpose stuff and is great for door trim and dash, works well on vinyl too. Available everywhere.
