Garmin - 1 Complimentary Map Update?

    Hi All

    I am 99% sure that I read on this very Forum that you can always get 1 Complimentary Map Update outta Garmin after buying your GPS.

    - As far as I can remember the thinking behind it was that if Halford etc. had it in their Warehouse for 9-10 months etc. you could then go ahead and claim a free upgrade on products that had been shipped and then stored for ages etc.

    Then I read more recently it has to be inside of a year from the first satellite lock?

    My fist lock on my Garmin NUVI 760T would have been December 2007 or 20 months ago - any hope of getting the most up to date maps on this?

    I never actually registered the device at any time with Garmin by the way.

    Any thoughts, help or advice appreciated!!!
