Right lads, i am not new to this but i need to get the ropes in... I've got €20 in my ladbrokes account... Had it for a while now, any idea on what to bet on? I wouldn't mind an accumulator on today's games... But if one team doesn't pull through does that mean i lose everything?

    yes you lose everything

if i was you i go for a treble
everton , real madrid -1 and newcastle

    Total stake: 20.00
    Potential returns: 117.82

or go slow and build up your money (same bet as before)

    Total stake: 5.00
    Potential returns: 29.45

Colchester away to Tramere at 2/1 looks good value, Tramere are already on -13 goal difference 2nd bottom of league 1 (really bottom if you remove Southamptons points penalty). Colchester doing okay this season in the promotion race at this point.

So i put money on win on Newcastle, Everton and Colchester...
Then an accumulator on 5 games:Newcastle, Colchester, Everton, Real Madrid & United...

    Should be interesting...

Lumped on Everton 1-0 @ 2/5 with 10 minutes left. These bets are really worth checking out, got my heart racing though when the stream cut out in the last minute when Pompey had a corner and the stream cut out!

I have €150 to win on
    Birmingham
    Villa
    Arsenal
    Man Utd
    Spurs
    Chelsea
    Liverpool
    Real Madrid
    Barcelona.

    I put on a weird bet today;

    Fulham @ 11/2
    Stoke - Man U draw @ 10/3
    Birmingham - Bolton draw @ 11/5
    Blackpool @ EV

€10 on it. It's not looking too bad right now. Blackpool are winning 2-0, Man U-Stoke currently drawing, but Bolton are beating Birmingham 1-0.

That's a **** alright. Crouch has done enough from what I have seen from him to warrant a start against Burnley at home.

He might come on and get one Headshot. All is not lost yet.. but because he is effectively a non runner does the bet not revert to a double no? If you do a single on a player who doesn't play at all you get your money back. Dunno, haven't been in a situation like that myself.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

Did he come on? I thought the bet is void is the player doesn't play.

    i got these odds

    Brazil U20 -1 @ 4/6, - 2 @13/8 and Half Time handicap -1 @ 9.4

Anyone ever back any 'team to win both halves' bets? The odds seem really generous. Yesterday Liverpool were 11/10 to win both halves - seems like great odds to me.

Sours were 2/1 to win both halves against Burneley yesterday as well. Again these seem like great prices. I would've expected Liverpool to be odds-on and Spurs to be about Evs or even odds-on considering how bad Hull and Burnely are away from home and the amount of goals they tend to ship. Couldn't believe I was getting 2/1.

Could be some good value in this market seemingly. (Odds from Betfair)

Aye had a look at that. Have a single on Hungary, I think evens are good odds considering the opposition and Hungary did well in the U-19 Europeans last year.

Still bulling over the UAE, couldn't believe my eyes when the tw o goals popped up on the Beftair lives score, I was already planning my bet with the winnings!:(

On Hungary, Nemeth, who is a dead cert to start, is in decent form with 2goals and an assist in 4 league games in the Greek superleague so far this season. He had a poor season last year when he missed a massive chunk due to two serious injuries but his goal scoring record prior to that was very impressive - both for Liverpool reserves/youth and for Hungary underage.

Might be value in an any time scorer bet.

Also Gulacsi who is in goal is with Liverpool abd is pretty decent in goals.
Was on the bench for Liverpool's game against Bolton ( Cavalieri was away on compassionate leave) He's about 6'4 and looks decent from whenever I've seen him.

I've Spain Youths as part of a double. Currently 1-0 up, but Nigeria have just had a goal disallowed. Hope they score a second, for my heart's sake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

I was thinking of doing a double tomorrow night on Middlesbrough 4-5 to beat Leicester and Sheffield Utd 8-13 to beat Ipswich. Any thoughts.

The 2 Russian teams in the CL this week might be a bit of value - Rubin Kazan 9-2 to beat Inter and CSKA 3-4 to beat Besiktas.

Spain winning 2-0 now and Nigeria had a man sent of. I can breath easier.

    Anyone have any tips?

Yeah get a betfair account and you can get City at 4/7! :P

I'm considering laying Tevez to score anytime at 6/4. City have won their games against poor opposition with a single goal, and Tevez (while a great player) is hardly prolific.

I know City have scored a lot of goals as of late but as I said, their other games against weaker opposition have ended 1-0 (as far as I remember 3 1-0's at the start of the season?).

Just feel that the liability isn't too bad here for what I think is a far longer shot bet.

Santa Cruz is expected to make his debut too

Was thinking about this too. Is he expected to start? If not, then laying him to score anytime has to be tempting at odds of 3.65 (between 13/5 and 11/4).

*edit: Santa Cruz is actually 4/1 to lay, other odds are backer's stake

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,951 ✭✭✭✭Villain

He is expected to start and I would never lay a striker on his debut, how many times have you seen players score on their debut
