Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Liverpool injury news

    Gerrard 2 weeks
    yossi 3-4 weeks
    torres 6 weeks

Stoke 16/5 and Liverpool 10/11 atm. I'm guessing better on betfair. I just lumped on 16/5.

    Stoke at home as well.

I don't like it at all, Stoke are very hard to catch right. I'd fancy Liverpool or the draw in that one but I wouldn't bet on it tbh.

Going on the overs again for the first game in the African Nations Cup today. Algeria conceded 3 and Mali 4 in the first round of games.
    over 2.5 at 2.18, over 3.5 at 3.95 and over 4.5 at 8.4.

    Come on the goal fest!:D

Came accross this and thought some of the punters might be interested

Basically NBM posted the first goalscorer odds for tonight's Liverpool Spurs game and it looks like there is a couple of errors in the market.

Benayoun at 11/1 is madness as he isn't even remotely in contention of starting as he's out injured for approximately another month.
Pacheco as 3rd most likely Liverpool scorer also looks badly-priced as I would expect him to have difficulty making the bench - nevermind starting. I said this in the match thread yesterday before I knew of the odds if people want to check. Also Babel at 11/1 looks wrongly priced as well given the fact that he is probably unlikely to start combined with his goal-scoring form so far this season. Also it's unlikely that Keane and Crouch will both start and they are priced as Spurs 2nd and 3rd most likely scorers. Given all these factors I do feel there is value in this market. First goalscorer isn't the easiest market in the world but all of this poor pricing surely must hand some value to the punter.

By keeping an eye out for early rumours of the team sheet combined with the inaccuracies in the market I think bettors could tilt the advantage in their favour.
Just checking the odds for tonight's game, interesting reading:
    First goalscorer
    Jermain Defoe 6.5
    David Ngog 7
    Dirk Kuyt 8
    Peter Crouch 7.5
    Daniel Pacheco 9
    Robbie Keane 8.5
    No Goalscorer 8.5
    Maxi Rodriguez 10
    Ryan Babel 11
    Yossi Benayoun 11

    - Pacheho our third likeliest to score the first goal? Any word on him in the squad/starting?

    - Babel at 11/1? He's not that likely to start, is he?

    - Yossi at 11/1? Is he not still injured?

    http://www.oddschecker.com/football/...rst-goalscorer

Yossi was reported as being out 4-6 weeks last week and Rafa said he was training in a pool yesterday.

I think Pacheco might well not even make the bench. He can't play as a striker up-front, so effectively he's looking at one of the three attacking spots assuming it's 4-2-3-1 [If it's 4-4-2 he's eithe going to be in the support striker role or out wide, so effectively three spots as well]
His competition for these three spots is Kuyt, Riera, Babel, Aquilani, Maxi, and Aurelio. I think the best he can hope for tonight is a sub appearance late on when the game is won.

One thing in Pacheco's favour (and possibly a reason for the odds if he does play) is his free-kick ability - scored a number of crackers from dead-balls for the reserves already this season and at a guess I'd say he's probably the best free-kick merchant in the squad.

Assessing where Babel will go is tricky but I would expect him to be on the sub bench.

Really does seem to be a bit of a distorted market there so could well be some value for seasoned bettors there.

No errors in the market. Bookies regularly put players that are injured/unavailable in their markets as they can collect any bets placed from lazy punters that would be unaware of such injuries etc.. Some punters just couldnt be arsed going to back to the shop for the refund if its only for a couple of euros. Also they put in substitutes in their list as if no goal has been scored when the sub goes on the bet is valid. This is great news for the bookie as it gives less time for a goal to go in. If you took out the likes of Pacheco and Benayoun from the market the odds would still be the same for everyone else.

I get what you're saying to an extent but in this case you can definately take Benayoun out. Pacheco and Babel are also fairlyy doubtful to start (and if Babel does start he certainly hasnt shown the form to be 11/1 first goalscorer this season) Also only one of Crouch or Keane is likely to start. Similarly only one of Kuyt or Maxi are likely to start.

That's pretty much five out of the ten highest odd options for first goalscorer out of the running. Surely all of that couldn't be accurately reflected in the remaining prices. There's also the fact that sometimes word of the team-sheet gets released via the internet which could potentially hand those quick off the mark an extra advantage.

For instance if the five players I named don't make the team you could simply put money on Defoe, Dave, Kuyt, Crouch, no goalscorer and plus one other and still turn a profit. Obviously not a dead cert but looks to be decent value there.

    Jermain Defoe 6.5
    David Ngog 7
    Dirk Kuyt 8
    Peter Crouch 7.5
    Daniel Pacheco 9
    Robbie Keane 8.5
    No Goalscorer 8.5
    Maxi Rodriguez 10
    Ryan Babel 11
    Yossi Benayoun 11

Was looking at the 'to qualify' markets there.

Now I'm not a United fan by any means but I think they are firm favourites to knock out Bayern. PP has them at 10/11 and Bayern at 4/5 which really surprised me.

Considering lumping on United, Barca, and Inter to qualify. 100e returns 240e. Bad bet/ Good Bet? Is there any value in Barca and Inter as they're both massively odds-on?

ANy other bets that anyone fancies?
