Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What is the etiquette on collecting bets from fellow boardsies? Is the emphasis on us to go looking, or wait for the LOSERS : ) to make contact?

I think the protocol is to arrive at their house un-announced with two hefty "bodyguards" to collect it.

If Dani Pacheco starts for Liverpool today and if he gets to take some freekicks, he might well offer good value as an any timegoal scorer as he has scored a fair few for the reserves from dead-balls and there's a possibility the bookies might not all be aware of this. As against this there is no certainty of him starting and of getting but he's in with a good shout and the competition for dead-balls at Liverpool isn't all that great. If it doesn't happen today it could be worth keeping an eye out for next season when he seems bound to get more game time.

I have Rooney backed at 12s since last august for top scorer. Him and Drogba are level going in to today, it's gonna be a tight one.

I got a group winners bet up for Euro 2008, going to chance my arm for the WC now. One question though; do I have to pick a winner for each group or can I just bet on, say, 4 group winners?

You can get odds on teams to qualify from the groups, so you can pick as many as you like, 1-16.

You can also do a forecast for first and second in each group on pp.

Just after looking at my account there, what's the policy with getting on to Paddy Power about bets being wrongly settled?

At the start of the season I got Everton on Handicap @ +26.

They finished 25 behind Chelsea but PP have my bet down as a Lose...

Sorted it. turns out it was correctly a lose.

I though the +26 was added and if you were head of the league then it pays out.

But actually they add the handicap to every team and whoever wins that wins.

In other words Chelsea as every team would be in the same position? That doesn't make sense to me! What price were they?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

As in I thought I added 26 to Everton's total and if that was above Chelseas points in the league I won.

But once the season is finished the handicap total is added to each teams actual point score. The top 3 places when all this is taken into account are as follows:

    1. Birmingham 50 (+48) = 98

    2. Tottenham 70 (+23) = 93

    3. Aston Villa 64 (+27) = 91

    3. Stoke 47 (+44) = 91

So I would have had to beat Birminghams 98 points to win my bet.

Birmingham started at about +48 and were the winners, each team starts with a handicap and the team with the most points wins, not that difficult really

What kind of odds do you get in that? From looking at that, you seem to end up with a table of what team has performed the best this season taking their limitations into account, very interesting!
