Once everything goes to plan of course.

you thinking stoke could stifle liverpool again.... if they do there'll be calls of "rafa out"

i think burnley will put up a fight but will loose by 2-3goals (maybe all in second half)
similarly with Liverpool (I hope for plenty of goals but cant be confident after the game against Spurs - they just didnt seem up for it)

Does handicap betting operate the same in soccer as it does in other sports?

E.g. in NFL, if I back a team at -7 and they win by 7, I get my stake back. I'm pretty sure the same applies to rugby.

At the weekend, I backed Chelsea @ -1 to beat Hull but lost (didn't get my stake back).

you get your stake back

e.g i bet -1 man utd ,so man utd have to win and score more than 2 and if the other team score 1 utd have to score anyother

if it ends like this man utd 3 v burnley 1
    the bet wins

Damn you Wigan last night and Drogba put a header over the bar from 5 yards out. BTW Redzer I wouldn't put Liverpool in any accum @ 1-4. Remember last year and the year before that and the year before that.........

I think a single on Notts County @ 5-4 tonight looks about right.

Rooney is one goal away from 100 goals for utd

I think he's destined to score tonight

    heres my bets for tonight

    Chesterfield v Notts County
    Notts County

    Hull v Tottenham
    Tottenham

    Liverpool v Stoke
    S Gerrard

    Burnley v Man Utd
    W Rooney

I know that to win on a handicap bet you must cover the spread.

As I said, in NFL betting, if your team matches the spread, you get your stake back, e.g. I bet €20 on Team to cover -7 at odds of 10/11 and they win by 7, I get €20 back. If they win by 8, I get €38.18 back.

I am asking if the rules in soccer are different?

You sure about that, as they didn't beat the spread as it's a draw? Whats site gives that?

This doesn't happen with standard handicap betting in soccer as there are 3 possible outcomes you can bet on (handicap win/lose/draw).

It can be done at times when you use the Asian Handicap. For example in tonights game you can get:

    Burnley (+1.0) 2.58
    - 100% Win if Burnley wins or the result is a draw
    - 100% Refund if Burnley loses by 1 goal(s)
    - 100% Lose if Burnley loses by 2 goal(s) or more

    Man Utd (-1.0) 1.50

    - 100% Win if Man Utd wins by 2 goal(s) or more
    - 100% Refund if Man Utd wins by 1 goal(s)
    - 100% Lose if Man Utd loses or the result is a draw

Dunno if anyone else uses Betfair, but i think 14 goals or more at 5.5 looks ok. Could be a lot of goals tonight. Has added value as it gives you an interest in all the games. :)

I'm devastated. Man Utd miss a penalty to give Burnley the win so I miss out on the draw there and Birmingham score a last minute dodgy one so I miss out on 0-0 there. No luck

No if you backed chelsea at -1 it counts as a draw. No draws in NFL(ARE THERE)

Are you sure you're not thinking of an Asian Handicap rather than a normal Handicap. I'm sure the lads in the gambling forum would no more but I'm sure stakes are returned on a draw (after the handicap) with them.
