Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Nice, I lost €500 on Cooper not scoring any points today. First big loss in awhile and I forgot that it sucks.

You bet 2000 on Wolves? or that result blew an accumulator that would have returned 2 grand?

??? In fairness that was insane - Cooper is Kerry's free taker and their best forward. He scores in every match.

    Right...

    Barcelona -2.5 @ 2.16

    Barcelona, Newcastle, Benfica @ 2.66

Probably both lose with my luck recently, but if one comes in I'll be up a small bit at least!

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

Paddy Power account was down to zero so stuck in 50 euro tonight and placed it on Newcastle at 4/5, happy days, 60 Euro taken back out of my account and 30 euro to play with.

I needed 6 and he only got 3, thought he would have stepped up after winning the peno which would have won me the moonies.

I won for a change, only €20 staked in total, so €46.79 back (5% charge).

Sligo Rovers v Bohemians, any thoughts? Sligo are the least likely to keep a clean sheet having shiped more goals than any other side. Can Bohs stick it to them? I'm looking at -1 for a bit of value (2.70)

really don't like those anytime scorer bets although I know you've done well the past few weeks with them

what odds is keane to score?

    keane is 13/8

but im giving that a miss and instead going for

    Peru v Uruguay
    Chile v Venezuela

i don't think there's money to be made in the long run with anytime scorer bets

ill explain why I do anytime scorers

i only pick 3 teams really

    liverpool

    man utd

    man city

for man utd it's easy because Rooney is their main scorer, liverpool have either Gerrard or Torres but Torres usually scores more goals, city have tevez and ade, tevez isnt exactly playing that well so far so that leaves ade

i wouldnt go for a big accum of anytime just doubles or trebles

also another important note is what teams their against

I picked torres because liverpool were against Bolton and ade because city were against pompey

Yeah I get where you're coming from but the problem is that the bookies take all that into consideration too resulting in what I'd consider to be poor enough odds.

Thinking about doing Uruguay and Ecuador (in place of Chile). Ecuador are a great price against Colombia at 4.46 after playing Argentina off the park in the last game I watched them in..

Of course, that is a Maradona managed team but still...

    Double of €10 returns €73.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,657 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

i didnt go for ecuador because there not at home

Yeah I just had a look there and their away record isn't exactly worth shouting about. Plus I forgot how many players Colombia had playing in the top leagues - Zapata, Perea, Rodallega, Falcao, Guarin and Cordoba. Compared to Benitez and Valencia.

    Might have to rethink.

    Not really...

Betis beat Cordoba 3-0 in the league at the weekend.

Atletico beat Botafogo 1-0 away from home 3-4 weeks ago.

International have won 70% of their home games and Atletico have lost 40% of their away games (not a great reason here, but maybe I was convinced by the odds on Atletico winning).

    For the weekend:

    Chile
    Croatia
    Charlton

nice preview of the Argentina v Brazil match
    Argentina

Diego Maradona will be looking for his side to rise to the occasion as he prepares for his biggest test as Argentina's manager.

Argentina is in desperate need of a good result considering it sat fourth in the table for South American World Cup Qualifications.

The match has been moved to a more intimate surrounding in Rosario, as Maradona will be looking to involve the passionate Argentinian fans.

Nicolas Burdisso will miss the match through injury, while Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini has been called up and could figure in his place.

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi will be a key player for Argentina’s attack and Maradona will have the luxury of choosing between Diego Milito, Sergio Kun Aguero, and Carlos Tevez to join him in attack. Veteran Martin Palermo has also been called up by Maradona but is unlikely to start.

Juan Sebastian Veron has recently announced he will retire from international football following the 2010 World Cup and will be itching to have an impact against Brazil.

    Brazil

Dunga’s men will enter the match in a much more comfortable position as Brazil sits atop the table in World Cup Qualifications for South America.

So far, Brazil has dominated proceedings as its +19 goal difference (25-6) indicates. Dunga’s side has lost only one of the first fourteen matches in qualifying, having won seven and drawn six.

Adriano has been recalled for the match and the big striker will look to use his muscle to cause havoc to the Argentina defense.

Kleberson will miss the match due to a shoulder injury, but Real Madrid new boy Kaká will enter the match with his confidence at its peak.

    Prediction

Argentina’s home support will serve as a major advantage coming into the match, although Brazil will have the comfort of playing a relaxed game due to its position in the table. The latter could prove a deciding factor if Argentina is unable to jump on top of its opponent early.

Historically, there isn’t much to choose between the sides as Brazil has beaten Argentina 35 times while Argentina has won 34. Should Maradona succeed in leveling things up at 35 apiece, Argentina would ease its worries of having to qualify by way of a playoff.

Argentina was successful in holding Brazil to 0-0 in the first match between the sides in Brazil, but Maradona will know that one point is less than adequate.

Lionel Messi, arguably the best player in the world, will have to show his worth in the match as his country will be relying on him.

Expect an entertaining affair in what is easily the match of the weekend!

im going for over 2.5 goals odds 5/6

    On Brazil/Argentina I've gone:

    Over 3.5 goals @ 9/4

    And scorecast of

Fabiano first goal and Argentina to win 3-2 @ 175/1

Stupid question time as I'm not a gambler but how can there be odds on 3.5 goals instead of 3 goals or 4 goals?

it's on over/under 3.5 so over 3.5 is 4 or above basically. or I'm an idiot.

Here's my outlandish bet for the weekend:

    Treble of -

    Richard Dunne first goalscorer.
    Rooney first goalscorer.
    Scotland to beat Macedonia 2-0.

Turns 1e into 1071e and it's pretty much a sure thing!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Poland to beat Northern Ireland @ 8-15 and Bosnia to beat Armenia @ 1-2 looks safe enough.
