PALM PRE, 3G? ANY OTHER NETWORK THAN O2 HERE?

    Title pretty much says it all folks.

    Will the Palm Pre br released on any other network apart from o2 here? am hoping it comes it on 3.

    Any idea of a release date?

    Is it 3g?

    What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Palm Pre over a Nokia N97?

    Not for a while anyway, O2 have an exclusive. It's likely to be a shorter exclusivity period than the iPhone though.

    No date finalized, it's currently being tested by O2. They say quarter 4 of this year, rumors point to late October. The O2 guy testing it was on their forums today and he's very impressed with it.

    It's 3G. Would be a joke if it wasn't in this day and age tbh.

    Advantages: Capacitive touchscreen compared to the N97's resistive screen.
    Multitasking and excellent notifications system. Push Gmail and Google Talk integrated into the OS. Wireless charger available for it. Here's a review: http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/03/palm-pre-review/

    Disadvantages: The N97 would have a lot more apps available for it at the moment and has 32GB of storage versus the Pre's 8GB.

    There's a mistake on that site. It says the Pre has infrared; it doesn't.
