Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok first time time DSLR user soon on Monday hopefully if all goes well.

    Here's what I'll be getting:

    Nikon D80 - 7000 actuations, sensor ceaned
    Nikon 28-80 1:4-5.6 D lens
    Nikon 80-200 1:4.5-5.6 lens
    2x 2Gig SD Cards
    Battery
    Strap
    Original Software
Additional Camera control software (for shooting tethered - directly to laptop)
    Nikon View NX Software
    User manual
    52mm Filter
    fitted protective Case

I'm looking to shoot landscape and maybe some macro once I get the hang of things. Sports photography I'll hold off on. So what should I keep a look out for?

    Thanks for suggestions.

I would say you will need a tripod, also.

For Landscapes you will probably need a wide lens, tripod, circular polarising filter & lots of patience.

+1 for a wider lens, and a tripod if you want to get into landscape photography. How much are you paying for the whole lot?

Paying 475 for the lot above. Camera is in mint condition I've been told. Already have a tripod courtesy of my father who was into film photography - that reminds I should take them out of the attic to see if they're of any interest to people. Think the tripod is about 25 years old at this stage but it's rock solid, was using it for a few shots with a point and shoot and the difference it made was remarkable. It's extendible to 50 + inches which is handy for me due to my height.

What types of shots are the above lens (or lenses - can somebody please advise which is right so I don't ruffle any feathers:) ) suited for?

Also what should I expect to pay for a wide lens and circular polarising filter?
