Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

Hope I'm in the right place, anyhoo can someone help? I have recently set up a band (covers) playing funk, soul, disco, etc., for weddings and functions. We are bass, drums and rhythm guitar. Although we are more interested in playing experimental originals, we feel....that ship has sailed! we're just on the bad side of 30

The thing is, we are playing numbers from james brown, stevie wonder, jackson 5, the trammps, etc., and its hard to get a "full" sound especially lacking horns, keyboards, backing/lead vocals and when the members increase artistic differences are more frequent!

So, is anyone interested(or can it be done) in playing live with us, sampling and mixing in loops of, say horns, or vocals or other backing sounds to help achieve our goal?

This is at experimental stage and if we can pull it off I think we could offer something different and possibly more enjoyable than the normal "Who's Eddie" (NO DISRESPECT INTENDED) type band. The idea, not neccessarily the style, would be like jamiroquai, bboys, incubus, etc and we're currently jamming regularly near the red cow if anyone wants to join us!

no timewasters please and thanks all for your time

If you can't send a pm I have my doubts about you being able to do what the OP is asking.

It's a very interesting idea though and if you could pull it off it would be very impressive.

Well for starts how do you know what i can do, so your better off sticking to what you do know ok.

I have had muscians play along with me but not vice versa, I reckon once you had all the correct samples it give it a fair go. I dont see the huge difficulty with it to be honest once its practiced

    ffs is right!!!

this was a post to help expand on an idea for a live band. WTF people, why are you all only interested in avatars' computer etiquette and whether they can pm or not.....start a thread if you want arguments!!!

also boards seems to be proving to be a talking shop once again...

....are there no dj's in the country willing to get involved in this?????

I'm not sure what you need is a DJ...maybe a keyboard sequence player is more suitable?
