More annoyed that Tamdan McCrory got released, good fighter and looks to have potential plus his name is the best (The Barn Cat).

After the Anderson Silva fight where he spent a lot of it going to his back I am sure Dana White was only looking for an excuse.

+1 McCrory was a good fighter and had potential especially maybe two years down the line.Probably because he pissed off Dana at 96 for picking his music:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:. Plus Rogan said he was having trouble cutting to 170 and was going up to 185. Signing all the affliction fighters could have come into context aswell as they needed to cull a few from the roster.
Probably taking the WW and MW divisions out of WEC may have been the wrong decision in hind sight especially now.

They can always sign him again. Many fighters have come back.

True. Look at Marcus Aurellio got called back to fight Dunham on the undercard at 102 after biding his time in smaller shows for the last year after dropping back to back losses in the UFC.
Leites will surely be picked up by Strikeforce I'd say.
UFC has gotten to the stage now that if you drop 2 straight you're out and if you are relatively young in pro career example Dan Cramer 1-1 you go off to smaller shows get good grounding and then come back.
IMO the way the sport has grown especially stateside you should atleast be in double figure pro wise with a decent record in smaller promotions before
    going into UFC/WEC e.g. 11-2.

Keep in mind here that Leites' fight on the last show has been called worse than his title fight. Two performances like that and there really doesn't appear to be any immediate upside to keeping him on the roster when they have more than the suitable amount of fighters

Baroni coming in is surprising. It would be one thing if he were still one of the top names in Strikeforce and they were trying to keep him, but they released him and didn't want him. I've no problem with it, he's more entertaining than a lot of other guys in the UFC, even if it's unlikely that he'll be beating them

Strange. Lorenzo and Joe Silva are the only others who can cut fighters, right? If they're overruling Dana and then Dana is overruling them then they may have a problem :pac:

    Well

    http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/mmajunkie/~3/zf7hMJYEm3U/despite-reports-tamdan-mccrory-and-thales-leites-in-fact-cut-by-the-ufc.mma
Despite reports Tamdan McCrory and Thales Leites, in fact, cut by the UFC
    from MMAjunkie.com by MMAjunkie.com Staff [mmajunkie-staff]

After appearing as though the "Barncat" used his one of his nine lives and dodged potential walking papers from the UFC, Tamdan McCrory has, in fact, been released by the organization.

MMAjunkie.com passed along the news on Thursday that McCrory had been cut. But in a Yahoo! Sports story that was syndicated here on the site, Kevin Iole cited UFC president Dana White as saying McCrory (and Thales Leites) would remain with the organization.

However, according to mixedmartialarts.com, which is co-owned by McCrory's manager, comments were misinterpreted and McCrory has, in fact, been released from the UFC's roster. MMAjunkie.com has since confirmed Leites, too, remains released from the organization.
