In the summer marine turtles sometimes carry on the warm currents from the gulf of mexico and have been spotted off the coast of Kerry and Cork. Unfortunately, in my job I have recently heard reports of freshwater turtles such as sliders inhabiting ponds and other small bodies of water, which is worrying considering the mild winters we are having now.

A giant turtle had to be transported back to the Galapagos Islands about 3 years ago from Cork. He had stayed on the warm current for too long as it stayed warm for an extra two weeks. Its mad the way that the poor animals are getting so confused by global warming.:(
