    Hey all,

Not really a big fan of Poker (or cards in general) and so I thought I'd throw this question over to you guys as you *may* have some idea what I'm talking about.

I'm on the fence about buying a Poker Table off ebay for my brother for Xmas (still early, I know, but I'm just working on my options) and I came across this:

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/TEXAS-HOLD-EM-CASINO-POKER-TABLE-FREE-PLAYING-CARDS_W0QQitemZ270439186481QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Toys_Casino_RL?hash=item3ef76e8031&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14

    %21B%28UertQBGk%7E$%28KGrHgoH-EEEjlLlyg1NBKbsq%29UV%28w%7E%7E_1.JPG

Seems good, price is great, yada yada yada.

The problem I face is that my brother never uses an actual table. When he has a game in his house he uses a table top, that lies across the top of his actual kitchen table.

Now, onto the point of this thread. I'm pretty much just reaching out to see if anyone on here has sat at a table designed like the one linked to above, and if they could tell me if I could take the legs off it without damaging the actual table itself (There's a workshop out my back, so I've got pretty easy access to cordlesses and jigsaws, etc.).

Another concern i have is the drinks holders. In the event that the legs could be taken off, would laying this down on an actual table push the drinks holders up, so they would be sprung up out of place (and getting in your way as you play)?

I know this thread is pretty obscure, and I understand the chances of me actually finding any real help is pretty slim, but what the hell, there's no harm in trying.

Cheers in advance to anyone that can offer any insight here at all. Just at a bit of a loss.

    Thanks! :)

You can get tables with foldable legs if thats what you're after.... Try casinoshop.ie, it should retail around the €150 mark.

    EDIT://

Try this one, i own one myself.

They have a table with foldable legs that is pretty similar to one i was looking at on eBay earlier (though it's more expensive and out of stock on casinoshop.ie). Only issue I have with it is that it looks very bland or something in comparison to the one in the ebay link I put in the first post.

This is what I was looking at:

Argos.ie have a very similar one too, but it's almost €300 so I won't be getting it off them, that's for sure. Cheers for the help though, Degag.

That table look fine, i'm not sure as to why you'd cut off the legs though, as it folds up easily?

The only other advice i can give you is that casinoshop.ie offers a 10% reduction to boards.ie members. All you have to do is enter "boards" in the promotional offer box when you are paying. I also think that they offer free delivery (although not sure)

I should point out that i'm not a representative of the above company but have used them before and found them good, so check them out:)

The foldable table is the best option for you, cheapest and they are a good quality table that pack away handily enough. I would ceratinly prefer all felt instead of the wooden ring on the table that you originally posted, shouldnt be enouraged to put more things on the table! Also those metal cupholders are crap and tiny. Shouldn't be cup holders on tables imo anyway.

Will prob cost you €135 for the foldable while supporting a Irish company ;) or pay £164 for the other one where you could get scammed and will have to alter it :)

I have a few of these tables.

It comes in 3 parts, the 2 legs and the table itself.

The under part of the table should have a support peice of wood which will be deeper then the cup holders.

I got a present for xmas 2 years ago of a large rectangle poker table top with curved corners that lays on the kitchen table. It has 4 folds so there is minimal storage space required. Its fits perfectly on most kitchen tables too. 25 euro was the price at the time from Dunnes so it was a great deal.

Might be a bit on the cheap side for what you're looking at though.

    :)

    Peter from casinoshop.ie here.

    1. The table is a reasonable decent table but it was never £299!!! I did sell a table similar to this a while back (3 years ago) for about €250 and I have a couple in stock which I can do for €150 each. - Oddments, hence they are not on the site.

    2. The underside of this table will be different to other tables in that it will be flat and the cups drop down approx 1" below the base, so if being used as a tabletop, you would need to affix a few pieces of timber to raise the table up from the table or take the cups out.

    3. Slight advantage in buying locally :D - If he didn't want it, we have no problem taking it back & issuing a refund - and you can view in our showrooms in Athy.

If the Op has a workshop why dont you make him a table?

    http://www.buildyourownpokertables.com/

Bit of an effort but satisfying all the same when you factor in the getting to cut and hammer things etc.
