Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys,

I'm not very technically advanced (as you can see ! ) so hoping that someone out there could give me a steer on this : I got this TV and its a full HD but the sound is not the best and the picture is quite grainy...to be honest my old 28' Black Diamond was much better !

This is the way I have it set up :

Scart triple adapter into single scart at rear of TV

Scart going from TV to Sky standard box
second scart going from TV to Philips DVD recorder
Sky cable connected to back of Sky box

My question is have I done this correctly and if so, would anyone have any suggestions as to how I could improve the sound and picture quality of this tv as Im a tiny bit disappointed with it.. I did hear that there was optimal settings for picture quality but I cant find any for this particular model

Thanks a lot for all your help :)

Where did you get the scart adapter ? - could be poor quality.

thanks a lot Barr for your reply

I bought the triple scart adapter in Atlantic Homecare on Saturday....the single scarts i'm not sure where they came from !....they were the ones I used before I upgraded my TV.

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

Not sure if you got this sorted but if not does your DVD recorder have HDMI upscaling? A lot of newer recorders have this feature.

If it has HDMI upscaling then i would go gold plated scart (something like a monster) from Sky to DVD Recorder and then HDMI from DVD to TV. I have to say getting good leads really helps - especially gold plated scarts. The HDMI upscaling also really helps. I have this set up on my TV (i have a Sony DVD recorder and Philips ambilight LCD) and the picture and sound are brilliant.

If you have any other questions PM me or reply to this.

Sorry for hijacking but ive got the same tv with a skybox and im just wondering could someone reccomend a good scart lead and scart adapter, ive seen the monster ones but there pretty expensive in the bricks and mortars shops, would it be worth getting one online or is there a better brandname to go for?

Something like the below should do the job :

BTW I'm think of getting the same tv , having only one scart is a pain. What kind of deal did you get on it if you dont mind me asking ?
