hate to say it because Ronaldo was injured for the start of last season

    WTF is Park at?

what was he supposed to do? Everyone was just standing still in the box marked by players

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,261 ✭✭✭kenon

Uniteds squad seriously misses Ronaldo. He had that little bit of magic and luck we needed during terrible performances. Like tonight.

Fergie needs to bring in some top quality players. Giggs and Park are not good enough in midfield imo, creatively we just don't have the players.
    Completely disagree.

I've watched united play like this with Ronaldo in the team.

Conceding that goal allowed Burnley to pack the defense and make absolutely everything really difficult.

He could have taken a shot rather than pass to the invisible man.

Oh and let it be noted, Carrick was absolutely ****ing woeful tonight.

Giggs, for all my annoyance about him some times, along with Rooney is the only ****ing player who is giving a ****.

Yeah - but in Ronaldo we had a player who consistently got us out of the crapper. we don't have that anymore imo.

ronaldo's match winning has to be replaced.

i would argue that it is the biggest talking point for utd's season; how his input is replaced. until it is, it's a more than worthy discussion.

The standard is low, but I think Giggs has been immense.

exactly. This season we should be less predictable as we should have danger on both wings. The selection of Park, who naturally comes inside and Ando, who is a CM, basically meant that we'd have no width and were predictable as fúck

Burnley did very well tbh. Did what many teams last season tried without success. Score and then play on their 18 yard box.

If this means Fergies gonna go out and spend first thing tomorrow(which we need) it could be a blessing in disguise

Woeful all round and if Fergie does not know he won't win anything with the squad the way it is then i have lost faith in him altogether, no bite in them until the last ten minutes and even then still no clue how to break an average team down

    that was ****!NG shocking!!!

play like that for a season we might be lucky to get 5th

Park has been dire. The more I see him play in the last year or so, the less I think he should play. He gets knocked off the ball so easily, and his finishing is really poor.

Well done Burnley, poor performance for united lots of possession very little threat on goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,462 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

    Disgraceful.

I would love to think it wil spark Fergie into some transfer activity, bring in some top quality midfield player who can actually take the game to the oppostion AND create.

    But it won't.

whether that is because the money isn't there or Fergie is too stuborn to pay the going rate, i don't know.

    Pathetic.

Diabolical stuff from United. Well done to Burnley. Pleased for Owen Coyle but wish he'd got such a big result against another side.

United were so poor and I hope Fergie acknowledges that.

will this spark some transfer panic from fergie?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,261 ✭✭✭kenon

    Terrible result.

An early lesson learned though for united, don't give lesser opposition early opportunites because if they score they will park the bus.

that was horrible.. terrible performance only good thing in that match that rooney didn't get sent off after nearly taking the head off your man..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭titan18

I thought Evra played well.Giggs was ok in the middle.Berbatov and Valencia looked lively when they came on.

Brown,Anderson,Carrick,Owen and Park were shocking.None of them should get near the starting team on Saturday.

**** blaming this on Ronaldo. Ronaldo's talent is missed, but that was ****ing awful, awful from the majority of United players.

Owen, Carrick, Anderson, Park, Valencia all need to take a long ****ing look at themselves after that game, utterly shocking.

Desperately missed Fletcher, desperately, who woulda stepped up and treated Burnley with respect and worked his ass off to beat them.

**** this Ronaldo talk, United as a whole were utterly ****e, and while maybe Ronaldo woulda put away the penalty or whatever, it doesn't excuse an absolutely ****e performance.

    Surely has to.

Valencia doesn't look anywhere in the same league as Ronaldo was. Park will always work hard, but he's never going to threaten defences. Centre midfield is a serious problem. Hargreaves is crocked, Scholes can't play a full season and Carrick is shockingly inconsistant.

In fairness, we are far from full strength defensively. With Rio and Vidic we may not have been so sloppy.

    So disappointing.

We badly need a CM who can make somethng happen.
