There's a good idea; everyone must bring/wear something that would give a clue about their username.

No objections to that date/time/venue from me.

    Ha, mine is so easy

does week one mean the 7th of september??? if so i should be there;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,366 ✭✭✭ninty9er

Week 1 is the 7th. Classes begin on the 7th. You need to be there from orientation week onwards until the 22nd December (if necessary, for exams)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,584 ✭✭✭skeleton_boy

    Might aswell drop on in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭Mossin

I disagree, the 7th Sept is a bad idea, that why I suggested later in the week, or the start of week 2....people will say they will be there now, but a BULBS is usually last on the list of people's preferencesl as we well know at this stage...

    I propose Monday week 2 in Java's instead @ 8pm....

    :pac:

Oh yeah. I love those dirty looks people give me as they see this psycho strutting down the street.
Whatever would I wear? I don't have anything particularly snazzy.

As for date and time, I really don't mind.
    Whichever is more practical.

Of course, the more the merrier. Bring your housemates.

As for Mossin, we'll try week 1 and do a follow up week 2 for those who can't make it?

That sounds like a plan alright...
I cannot do the Tuesday or Friday of week 1 however, as I'm working in Thomond Park for a soccer and rugby match.

So, how does Wednesday, week 1, @ 7.30 in the Scholars sound to everyone?

The C+S recruitment fair is on then so I'd recommend another night.

Thanks for the heads up Ergo, I didnt know.

Hmmm [lots of head-scratching]...the 1st Monday for people, or their 1st Thursday...

    Lets go for Thursday night!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,366 ✭✭✭ninty9er

There's a gig on the Thursday that might take people. I can't remember what it is...Ergonomics might be able to fill us in.

Monday is a quiet day so I reckon then.

Ray Foley in Trinity Rooms on Thursday!

I have a feeling the Back to School Ball is the Monday.

Maybe a pre-party in Javas for one of them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭Mossin

I did say that week 1 will be filled with activity, and that week 2 would be better, but sure what do I know

Right, so can we can a final day/time/venue for this as there are too many floating about which is a bit confuddling. Seeing as there are so many newbies eager to come along and experience a BULBs, if we can set the date in stone well in advance, then there's a greater chance of people putting that in their diary and actually turning up without a stupid "Um, I'm de-crumbing the butter" excuse. And, especially for the freshers, I think a big crowd could get some friendships going with cups of tea and note sharing and general comradery in the future.

Screw this two BULBs malarkey; no watered down versions here. One big one. And not a pre-party either with people disappearing off when Boardsies become second best.

So, beginning to side with Mossin on this: week 1 looks like it could be a loss with all the other events going on. Plus, with new housemates/classmates and such, I'm sure many of the freshers would pick those people over us Boardsies.

Thus I propose: Monday, week 2, 7.30pm, Java's (with the potential to move to Stables and on to Le Lodge if so desired).

Thoughts? If there are any real objections to this date, speak NOW!

    I hereby Second Monday, week 2, 7.30pm, Java's.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,219 ✭✭✭Mossin

    I agree with Bluedolphin here.
    What a shock indeed!

But seriously though, its the best option going for week 2, as I've said from the outset!

Monday week 2, @ 7.30pm in the Scholars
