Any idea of what I could be charged for from Switzerland? I was going to buy some studio equipment from America but it might be a nice bit cheaper on shipping/charges if I get it from Switzerland!

    Thanks

Switzerland is within the EEA (the economic part of the EU).

AFAIK, it should be treated the same as within EU, but you should check with www.Revenue.ie

The site I bought the gear from, said thjis:

"stuff is coming from Switzerland, no way you save VAT unless you have a business in which you can recuperate VAT.
Even if send from EC port, you would have top pay EC VAT of the shipping country unless you have an UID number."

What does EC mean can anyone tell me?
