Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah go away out of that you have to create chances to deserve a lead.

    Who is leading?
Its a shame Celtic have such crappy players because they are really trying to play some nice football but the players arent good enough to execute it.

    That wasn't a foul

    More wasted Celtic play.
The players don't seem to be up for the occasion, despite being at home.

McGeady has to be as fast with the ball if not faster than Ronaldo or am I mad?

Celtic starting to look dangerous on a few counter attacks. They seem to be attaking in great numbers

Celtic are great at attacking but loose it in the box, so their attack becomes worthless. I actually though they played a better first half then Arsenal tbh.

He has a good burst of pace over 20 yeards but wouldn't be great over 50.

Works with a French lad, DuPont, for the bursts of speed which is a relatively new thing to his game but is superb.

A bit of a disappointing end to Arshavin's first CL game for us. He never really got into the game

Caldwell is muck, he backs off backs off and then kicks the ball into his own net.

The better team is winning though the two goals are a killer, one OG and one scored with his back, the second coming just as we were in the ascendancy - terrible soft goals to give away.

Did you mean the intervention where the ball went of for a corner ? That was pure class defending man

    Maloney is fair bad.

    Good game.
Celtic ran out of ideas in the end.
Should be a good return leg.

He done very well to get back as he looked too far away at the start of the move but he recovered very well. Considering how much he was stretching for the ball there is always a bit of luck involved when it goes to hte outside of the post rather than the inside.

Overall I think a job well done by Arsenal. Regardless of how they done it. They're only the third team to win a CL away game ay Parkhead so they done jobb they were sent out to do.

Poor 2nd half from Celtic. Could have been much different but for that Gallas goal. Ah well. Europa is more Celtic's level for Mowbrays 1st season.

McGeady was was excellent tonigth I must say. Not a tackle won on him all night and hardly gave the ball away.

Great performance from Arsenal, quite a physical game but signs that this team might be able to handle the phsical game now.

    Shame about the result tbh.

Would have loved if Celtic could go to Emirates with a good chance of progressing, but fair dues to Arsenal.

Varmaealan (spelling :() looks really good.

that's true but would you rather your first teamers get injured ?

Europa league would suit Celtic more, a good run in that might be better than a bad one in the CL.

still have a feeling Celtic could send it to penalties at the Emirates :D

Only bad point tonight was Eduardo got injured in the warmup.:(
    Hope it's only a strain.

In regards to Celtics new brand of football, they are very unlucky in that they probably couldnt have come up against a worse team to play against bar Barca.

The would have done better against Chelski,Utd and Pool playing like that imo.

Forgetting quality in the teams but the actaul styles against each other.

Good game that. Two teams trying to get the ball down and play good football. And they both worked hard when they didn't have possession.

Celtic just didn't have enough quality players in their team to really compete - no shame in that. Can't see them getting anything out of the second leg.

Hopefully this is just the start of a rebuilding cycle for Celtic, at the moment, and not a sign of the long term future.

    Absolutely agree.

Getting to the Europa League was deffo the goal this year - at least we have that to fall back on.

Arsenal are fantastic to watch, hope they go on and do well in the competition now.

    Nice.;)
Agree Celtic don't have the kind of resources at hand as Arsenal do, and they gave their best tonight.
They weren't too dirty at all if i'm honest.
Hope it's an entertaining second leg.
