Trying to Adopt a Kitten

    Hi Peeps,

Sorry for posting here but I'm having alot of trouble finding a kitten we can give a home to. I've gone up to the DSPCA in Rathfarnham today and called them and other rescue shelters a fair few times this week and a few weeks back trying to find some lil munchkin to offer a home to but it seems like half the country is looking for one also.

We want a young kitten just ready to leave its mother we don't want a wild or older cat unfortunately as we want to have the full experience or growing old with our new companion.

Does anyone out there know anyone or anywhere in the Dublin area that has kittens atm looking for homes. Would love a tabby type coat but any short haired lil guy or girl is all we are looking for atm.

I'm going to start ringing the people in the Buy&Sell tonight and try ringing the loval vets also but any other advise would be welcome.

Anyone looking for a loving home for a kitten also please pm me.

    Thanks so much

    Sara

    Hi,

Have you tried the Drogheda Animal Rescue? They have a rehoming day on Saturdays, you can ring them on 041 983 2418 to see if they have any kittens.

    Or you can try Gumtree.

This advert has two tabbys so give them a shout........http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/59/43959159.html

    Best of luck.

At the moment the country is awash with kitten, the main problem is getting the correct homes for them have you tried http://www.irishanimals.ie/homes.html

There is nothing stopping you from taking a kitten from another part of the country....the beauty about animal welfare is that a lot of rescues will do home checks for other rescues;)

    Hi Sara,
My local vets have a few adverts for kittens that are available right now. I was nearly tempted to adopt one myself as unfortunately my cat was put to sleep last week :-(
They are in Glasnevin and their number is 01 8375543
    Good luck :-)

The first place we looked was the dublin shelter sites as we would both rather give a cat in need a home but we really expect to have this cat for 10-15 years not an older cat that may have some issues that we wouldnt have enough experience to help them as much as wed like to. I was nearly crying in the DSPCA at the thought that any of those cats may be put down just because we both want a kitten :(

I've left a message on the Irishanimals and so has my boyfriend and we are just waiting on a call back.

The thing is as i replied to annefitzy myself and the boyfriend have a week and a half off from this friday so would love to get a kitten by then so we can spend some time with her/him getting her used to being away from her/his mother and siblings so this is why I am in desp need of advice to get one fast. We have spoken about it for months and finally have the time and are settled enough to get one.

http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/59/43959159.html - Thanks PCros i have emailed them.

Thanks also to the other responses. Il be sending the numbers home to my bf now so he can phone to see if that vets or the centre in drogheda have any thanks so much.

If you PM me i have a 15 week old Tortise shell who i'm fostering that is looking for a forever home. Very sweet , well socialised, litter trained.

Maybe you could sign up for kitten fostering with the DSPCA . That's what I did and ended up keeping the first one we got which is about 2 months ago now. They have loads looking for foster homes at the moment and seems to be no problem if you end up wanting to keep them either.

    Attached a pic of her!!

    Hi Helen

My name is Barry and I was hoping you may still have some information on
where myself and my girlfriend could contact to try and adopt a kitten? We have
been looking for a kitten for several weeks with no real luck. We have spoke
with the DSPCA and unfortunatley at the moment they have no kittens in need of
rehoming. I have also left messages with a group called CATSAID but i havent
heard anything back from them. If you could give me any names of other
organisations in Dublin or any contact number that would be really helpful and
    would be kindly appreciated
    Kind regards

    Barry

I know im creating a zombie here. But Im looking for a kitten (female preferably) for my wife. A nice tabby or something like that. Anyone know where to get one? There is a stray kitten in our bin area downstairs in the apartment.
I have been trying to coax it in for the last month with milk etc but no joy.
I'll carry on feeding it but were moving house at the weekend. Im running out of time!!

PM if you have a nice kitty we can give a forever home too.
    Female preffered!

borrow a cat trap from an animal charity and catch the stray.

Hi all, I found these two cuties during the week. 3 months old. The grey one is a boy and the black and white one is a girl, they are both very friendly and playful. I would keep them but am in rented accommodation and already have a cat. I'd prefer if someone could take them both but am open to giving them away separately.
