building a basement??

Hi all Were soon going to be putting in our plans for our dormer bunaglow with basement, but am having second thoughts...has anyone here built a basement resently? Did you tank it or block it? how did you insulate? and what was the costs involved? Im just scared that its gonna cost too much :confused:

Would be real curious about this too. We're researching building an extension on a three bed semi and would love to know how costly it might be to put a basement underneath at the same time.
