Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very happy with the nights football I must say.

We looked decidedly dodgy in the first half though I must say, but in the second half we were a different team, and the confidence from the end of last season looked back again.

    2138: FULL-TIME Burnley 1-0 Manchester United

    Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Dirk Kuyt scores Liverpool'sthird goal. But the Steven Gerrard deserves all the credit after he deceives his marker with a lovely turn on the right and delivers a low ball to the Dutchman who pokes in from close range.

Makes for good reading that :D taken from bbc live text

Nice display from Johnson. Good games for Ayala, Lucas, Masch and Insua too.

In stark contrast to the Stoke games of last season. Johnson really showed why he was signed.

Johnson was amazing. It's been years since we've had someone as exciting on the right wing.

Been watching the match on a crappy stream but Johnson appeared to have been a revelation tonight. He's so good going forward he could play right mid!

Johnson was fantastic tonight. Didn't have a lot to do at the back, and will have busier nights defending, but he didn't do anything wrong at the back either, and was fabulous going forward.

that would be the most ridiculous decision possible - look how attacking are right side was with him at rb and kuyt ar rm - madness it would be.

Ha... what a comment after our first performance and all the rumours...

But i agree 100% Delighted its back

Great display. Glen Johnson man of the match. Was delighted we signed him and he showed why hes an upgrade on Arbeloa.

Lucas was also very impressive. (yes even though i dont rate him he can prove me wrong). Keep it up lucas.

Great showing all round. Ayala looked good too, really dont think we need a back up CB.

And united lost to burnley!! hahaha

johnson was man of the match by a long way, and that's not taking away from anyone else. that is the type of game he was bought for. he knew it, and he delivered.

4-0, can't complain at all. roll on the rest of the season.

he made at least one vital interception at 2-0 which would of likely been stoke goal if he had not cleared.
