Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for that, this is my 3rd time going for this but on the previous 2 occasions i failed ac so didnt get this far, however i really thought that this time in ac i did really well so i expected to pass it, but obviously it might not be good enuf score!! we can just live in hope, least if we find out a merit score then we'l have a fair idea and itl take the sting off not having yet recieved vetting!!
Its soo frustrating when you want something so bad and its all youve ever wanted to do, im sure the majority of you guys are in the boat, give us a chance!!!!!!

Not neccessarily mate, it is impossible to know as this process is so random, that their seems to be no structure in the medical and vetting forms. We are just going to have to wait and see the merit list and then you will have a better idea!

cheers for that. its so disheartening when you read that some people have passed medicals and vetting. i wish they would just take a more systematic approach to things and put us out of our misery! waiting is tough!

I must have the patience of a saint! hehe I have been waiting for 2007. everything is done but my vetting! So if you are out there, and like me, you are not alone, and if you haven't been waiting for almost 3 years, relax. it will come. It takes a long time, its serious stuff, and they need to do there research on us I guess. I thought about applying again, but I was assured that it was not required, and that your place it held until your vetting is finished. Do any of you lads or lasses have any words of encouragement for little old me? haha. What can we do but get on with things until we get a call or a letter? nose to the grindstone I suppose. Thinking this could be my last year as a civilian and wondering what next year could bring sure brings a smile to my face.

Hey Stoic Copper - you really must have serious patience! I'm going crazy after only 6 months (although it feels like a lifetime.) Have you any idea why your vetting is taking so long? I'm freaking out reading this as I have lived in S. America and the US and am terrified it's going to take an age now... That's if I even get in - the recruitment lady has told me they posted letters to everyone last Friday and I should get mine by Wednesday:confused: Wednesday!?! I live in Belfast, how can it take sooo long??

Good to have a bit of moral support from hopefuls in the same boat on here though. Best of luck everyone:)

Got the old 'your on the merit list' holding letter on Tuesday so now I am actually waiting on the call!:)

Can't believe that they don't have the merit list - mind you how could they be making the first calls with no list to work from?!.....jackanory me thinks;)

I wish they'd just send you out your merit number and have done with it - I would stop us all calling them that's for sure.

Really well done to those who have already got the call! Your so lucky!!!

Yep, fair play to you both. Hopefully everyone who gets there merit numbers and A/C results will post them to see how far some people missed out, or waiting on the call etc.

    Well Done!!

Now that we have our merit list letters has anybody called recruitment and asked for their number?

They obviously have the full list as we wouldn't have recieved the letter if they didn't.

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭Russler

Got my IST score the other day got 68 out of 78 so really pleased with that. Wish they'd hurry up with AC feedback and merit list

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 107 ✭✭unistudent2009

Russler, how did you get your IST score. Some people have talked about their scores but I am still in the dark.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14 rollinstone

Does anybody know when they release the numbers of the ones who are on the merit list? Or when they send out our results from the assessment centre?

Go to the Deloitte website and hit the 'contact us' tab. Put all your details into the online contact form and ask for your IST score. They post it out to you in a few days. I also asked them about merit list but they must have forgotten to reply to me!

AC feedback should be out at the end of the month - when it is we can they call recruitment for our merit score:)

I am not sure if call again in Nov, or if they are sending out the merit list. They never said what to do when people rang at end of sept.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭Delancey

In the letter I got the recruitment section made clear they do not want us calling them so I guess any requests will have to be made in writing . I'm hoping that perhaps the feedback from AC will also give our merit scores, thought that would be a departure from what has happened before.

Strictly speaking, they don't really have the staff to be taking calls. It's only (largely) because of sites like this that people have been encouraging each other to call.

To the guys in Recruitment who read this: Sorry. I know you don't like the forum, but it's helped more people than you'd believe.

    Hey

Just thought I'd throw my hat into the ring. Got the pass letter for my medical, roll on the merit list!

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭Russler

    Anybody called Deloitte recently?

Wondering if I should give them a call and try to squeeze info out of them about when the AC feedback will be posted out.....

Not yet. Was waiting until Deloitte feedback came through or some other brave indivdual called and got their merit place and was then kind enough to tell the rest of us. Feeling brave? ;)

The main switchboard on 9065 0222 will put you through. You will need your UID number though. Good luck.

Is this not the recruitment number?

I was going to ring Deloitte to see about AC feedback - people have already rung recruitment and been told merit list will be available when AC feedback is provided so I'm not gonna call them again to hear the same message mate:rolleyes:

I'll dig out the letter and give them a call tomorrow and let you know what they say...

Sorry I misunderstood what number you were looking for. Even if I had it, I wouldn't have posted it as it is not in the public domain.

    Good luck with the call.

Just called and spoke to Deloitte - very cagey about when the feedback would be sent out and just said 'we're sticking to the timeframe of October/November' so I guess we're no further forward:rolleyes:

Thanks for trying Russler. It is quite obvious they have some sort of merit list sorted already as some people are getting in from C15.

Hopefully we will all know in a few weeks where we stand (subject to the Postal Strike obviously).

You're right mate - clearly recruitment have the merit list from Deloitte as the first call for C15 went out last week (november intake).

Let's hope somebody from recruitment reading these boards takes pity on us poor fools and decides to put us out of our misery soon please :)

The next intake is Jan I believe. Not sure how many intakes per year. This campaign was for 440 places and some people from this one are starting to be offered places already. Perhaps another poster could confirm how frequent the intakes are and size.

I'm hearing a lot of chat that training may slow down for a while due to budget constraints after this current campaign has run it's course. Fingers crossed we are succesful with this one.

I think maybe there's 11 intakes in the year but don't count that as gospel.

Misterjay where'd you hear about the recruitment slowing down?

From 2 or 3 different people. It was even a topic of discussion at the medical.

Just received my pass letter for the medical this morning. I guess I can start back on the 20 a day in celebration :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 162 ✭✭rookie_boarder

if your "waiting on the call" does that mean you've had med and vets past?
ive past med and posted vets back 8weeks ago,got the "past med letter" six weeks ago,
heard nothing since? are people in this thread waiting to be called to start?
if you are, how do you know?because i can't figure this process out at all!

Hi, i done the medical about 2 weeks and sent my vetting away last week. Do you def have to phone for a merit pool number? what happens next??

You should wait for the medical results to arrive. If you've already got the letter which states, that you are medically fit for duty, there's a line where it says, that PSNI will contact you to explain what happens next.
Basically now you are waiting for the merit list to be released out (by your merit number you could roughly guess if you have a chance getting in) and feedback from AC test, then vetting clearance (which could take ages) and then, hopefully, for the call, that you're in and starting at the given date :)
I'm in exactly same boat and, I believe, hundreds of others.

My 'waiting on the call' situation is medical passed in mid August, merit list letter received early September and vetting sent off in July but don't know if it's cleared.

TBH people are at various stages and waiting on the call - you could have received a merit list letter but still be waiting on a medical date.

Sadly there is no rythm or reason to this process and no matter what anybody says about highest merit listers get meds and vetting early or first to apply gets them early no one can be sure exactly how the process works.......unless some nice person from recruitment were to post details of the process on here?;)

Hey guys :) i too got the "your on the merit list" letter, i got the letter saying i passed my medical and i'm now just waiting on my vetting to come through, if you get the "your on the merit list" letter, does this mean you just have to pass your vetting or you still need to wait until the a/c feedback is out then find out your actual merit score?
    thanks

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,451 ✭✭✭Delancey

Merit score is vital to get in. It would be unwise ( and potentially dissappointing ) to assume that once you've passed medical and vetting that your a dead cert .

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭Russler

Yeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa merit list is out today......come and get'em boys and girls:D

IGot mine today and it's between 60 and 80 and so well and truly pleased:)
