Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I was there last year and hope to go again , I will have a van from ireland leaving to get there for the Thursday morning spin 300 euro return for you bike and at the moment there are flights from dublin Ryanair to Santandar for FREE, entry is 35 euro , have a look at the web site , I am looking for 3 to share large van , see info here

    Wednesday 7th October

    Welcome to our participants.

    Thursday 8th October – High Mountain route.

    10.00hrs Start of the High Mountain Route – 200kms “The Cider and Blue Cheese route” ( A full tank and warm clothing is recommended)

    Our return to Colombres will be at 17.00hrs and at 21.00hrs there will be an Espicha (cold buffet) in the sports pavilion.

    During the day if you wish to enter the 5,000 curves road trial, you can add you name to the entry list at the Tourist Office.

    Friday 9th October - 5th “5,000 Curvas Road Trial”

    08.30hrs Start of the 5th edition of the 5,000 Curvas Road Trial, for the boldest riders, a high mountain route, not for beginners, this is a test of man and machine with a great feeling of achievement for everyone taking part.

    10.00hrs Start of the road trial for those who wish to experience the challenge but not the pressure of the full route, perhaps as an introductory ride in readiness for next years full route. We will cover one lap of the road trial course.

    21.00hrs Dinner at Hotel Mirador La Franca

    Saturday 10th October – “A day at the races”

    10.00hrs Start of the “Ruta Costa Verde” our route will take in both mountains and coastline during our morning run, we will be back in Colombres to enjoy the giant Paella in the square.

    10.00hrs Opening of the IV Motorcycle exhibition and Autojumble the Sports Pavilion.

    7th Bustio – Colombres Hill Climb This year again we will also include a Classic Sidecar class and due to popular demand we have now increased the number of entries to 70 competitors.

    21.00hrs Dinner at he Hotel Mirador La Franca and of course after the traditional “Queimada” we will have our IV International Folk Song contest. “Lets see if you can sing as well as you did last year.”

    Sunday 11th October – “Farewell Route”

    10.00hrs Ride out to 120kms not to be missed!

    14.00hrs Giant Fabada in the village square (Fabada? pron: Favada is an Asturian tradition and a tasty treat)

    Where are we?

    The 21th International Rally for pre-1980 bikes will take place between 8th and 12th October 2008 in Colombres (Asturias) a little village on the north coast of Spain, just 50 miles from the port of Santander for Brittany Ferries and 110 miles from Bilbao for P&O Ferries. Just follow the A8/E70 to it’s end at Unquera and we are a couple of miles further on www.infoasturias.com
