We may need to replace and move a radiator in kitchen. Neighbours tell me the are Gun barrell pipes. Does Gun barrell complicate this, not even sure what Gun barrell is.

Gun Barrel piping is made of Steel, and it rusts, A good plumber will be able to sort it for you, but it can involve a good bit of extra labour. Going from gun barrel to copper.

As piping goes, it’s the pits! When it starts leaking, you may have no choice but to replace it all.

What we are trying to do is remove existing radiator

Install a new vertical rad approx 500 x 1800 about 4 feet away from existing rad, pipes can run along wall approx 1-4 inches above floor. these will be hidden later , installing a kitchen, which will cover the pipes. Is it a troublesome job for plumber to connect rad and new pipes to gun barrell

No, any plumber worth his salt will have no bother working with GB in any size up to 1".

    Hi,

    I agree with Pete67,

There shouldn't be any complications doing the job described especially as it amounts to extending the existing pipes.
