Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Base of valve letting out air

Hiya, The base of the valve on my car tyre has a cut on it meaning it only pumps up to 2/3 inflation .If I try to pump it up further the air just hisses out. Could anyone tell me whether the tyre is a write off or can I replace the inner tube like on a bicycle? :confused: Thanks for any help

Most likely it is a tubeless tyre but you can just replace the valve - it is a separate unit that is pushed into a hole in the wheel. Any tyre centre will be able to do it and it should be cheap enough.

If there is a tube in the tyre (unlikely) then you would have to get the tube replaced which would cost a bit more.

Yes - a new valve should sort it. The tyre will have to be removed as the valve is inserted from the inside. It's not a bad idea to have the valve replaced every time (or at least every other time) a tyre is fitted.
