Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I suggest that you find somewhere local to you that does a swap shop. I'm sure someone here can point you in the right direction. :)

Are you based in Dublin? Shebeen Chic on Georges Street used to do one. I'm not sure if they still do but I presume so. I'm not sure when it is on though. There are probably a few more around.

Well if you cant afford it as you said look at wearing things more, and your friends driving a nice car and being ashamed of wearing things more than 3 times comes across as very snobby.learn to customise, try accessories, hats, ebay is great for buying and selling,if your good qualify dresses you could wear them to events every year

Swop shop in temple bar is brill. The girl Adele who runs it is lovely and will keep you in mind if something comes in that she thinks you will like. She charges a small fee depending on the value of the item you are swapping. I've gotten some great stuff out of there.

    www.swopshop.ie

Also there is a lovely second hand place in Howth that will sell your stuff for you.

Do a search on here for swapping as well. I'm sure I've heard a couple of other places in Dublin mentioned here.

http://myfashionfair.com/ was in the news a while back, not sure how successful it's been

hey swordsgal, i have your illness too!! but i put a load of bits on ebay recently. seven jeans, sendra cowboy boots, karen millen dress etc and sold them all. i was shocked how quickly they went.

would love to swap but not sure you'd be into the very few bits ive got left! what kind of style do you have??

There was something on Xpose recently about a swap shop in Dublin, can't remember it though - maybe you should email them (the email address is on the TV3 website I think).

Anyway, wear your stuff more than three times! Accessorise them, etc. There's no shame in wearing things multiple times. And if you can't afford to keep buying stuff to fund your 3 wear rule, then you shouldn't have a 3 wear rule!

My friend sells loads of her clothes on ebay so maybe try that instead of a swap shop.

A girl I went to college with once nearly had a heart attack when I suggested she wear the same dress a second time. I'm glad I'm not 'girly'.

how about we start a for sale thread on the fashion forum

Not going to happen. Sorry. There's far too much involved in policing that. www.adverts.ie is there if people want to sell clothes and if there isn't a section there for that you can contact one of the mod (smashey for instance) to get one set up. :)

oh right thought it be a good idea!I never heard of adverts.ie is it run by boards?fashion section would be popular i bet:)thanks janey could you say it on our behalf

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,676 ✭✭✭✭smashey

Anybody wishing to sell clothes can post on adverts.ie and the general for sale section would be the place for it. Your boards account will also work there.

Just make sure to familiarise yourselves with the rules first. :)

I like the idea of the swop shop. I've got a wedding coming up and I need a dress for it. Must take some stuff up there and check it out.
