Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have my NCT on the 6th Sep, but the NCT from the last owner is out since Sep 7th 07, does that mean I will get 1 days NCT cover?? or how do they go with situations like this?

    Thanks

Does it really matter? Just get your NCT in the last few days :|

My last car was never NCT-ed.... drove it into the ground over a 3 year period. Stopped at checkpoints on a few occasions & the guards never even mentioned it - just told them it had failed. NCTs are like BER Certs for houses.. no-one really gives a toss unless they are buying one.

Ive never had trouble at check points with it, its just im planning on selling the car, and to get an Nct on sunday that will expire the next day, to have to book again would only be a headache!

No, you can do your NCT up to 3 months early on older cars (i think cars more than 2 years old) so you will get your NCT for 2 years and one day.

Also, i thought there was a big crack down on NCT's now, 5 penalty points and 1500e fine, thats why there is so long a wait for test now. Up on till june the garda didn't care if you had an NCT or not, but thats all changed now.

Cheers, that's good to know Senna.

At any checkpoints I have been asked about the NCT, once I told them it was booked they told me to go on. They did check tax, insurance, license and sometimes the tires and bulbs to make sure though!
