Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its only cheaper if its efficiency above 40 miles per day is enough that the times you do go above that don't end up costing you far, far more than another car.

Seeing as you're using an indirect drive petrol motor and carrying the weight of the batteries, I don't see its petrol mpg being good at all. Depending on how good they are, your 25c saving could be gone by the time you've done 50 miles in a day.

After its battery is drained it gets about 50MPG. source
When gasoline is providing the power, the Volt might get as much as 50 mpg. But that mpg figure would not take into account that the car has already gone 40 miles with no gas at all.

So for the average joe, 20% of their journeys have a worst case of 50MPG, after the first 40 miles which would be very cheap.

Really is a great bridge technology until the batteries get better and we can drop the engine.
