Today I purchased a voodoo doll for €7 and now I'm told they don't work. I didn't keep the receipt and if i travel back into town for a refund i'll just about break even, but want to bring it back on principle as i think it was sold under false pretences. Can they refuse to refund me? thanks for your help

Without a receipt i'm sure they can refuse you the refund.

What lead you to believe the purchase you made was an authentic Voodoo doll? Lets say for example i walk into a toy shop and buy a "magic princess wand" for €7 and it turns out in fact to be a toy, and therefore i can't actually be a princess :(, i can hardly return looking for a refund.

Did they claim it was authentic? Was is sold as such, packaged as such and marketed as such?

    Interesting.
