sport science first year - start a 9 every day, don't finish till 6 with two hours off in the middle........i really hope i misread the timetable

I'm 99.9% sure you misread - you don't do all of those classes, probably half of them realistically - different sub-groups have different times etc.

Ya don't worry about it, you'll be told everything, the first day is a bit daunting with all the registration for your ID, registering for your computer account, building codes and timetables but within a week or two you'll be flying.

So the labs.. SHOULD we go to these? I believe I have missed mine at two

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,966 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

I don't think labs start till Week 3, so you are ok :)

As for whether you should go or not when they start, it's up to you, but some of them mark you down for not attending.

    Are you a Business student?

  • Registered Users Posts: 234 ✭✭Blondiegirl2009

Oh right, yeah I was thiking, they rushed through the times of the labs alright! Yep Im a business student:)

Ah so there's a lab for nearly every subject.
Well from my experience, go to the BIM labs, cos you will have assessments there that will go towards your final grade. 20% I think.

I think the other ones are just an oppertunity to get work done, eg. for the Communications project, for the Acc. case study, etc.
So you really don't have to go to them. There's no attendance taken for them, and they really are there just to help you out.

That depends on the subject, I had labs today (computer systems). This morning I asked our first lecturer about this and he said it varies from lecturer to lecturer so be sure to check first before taking the day off :D

Hey there, I don't know about the first semester, but in semester 2 there will be attendance taken in some tutorials and it will go towards your grade, Macroeconomics and something else I think.

So short answer...you probably could get away with it this semester....but I would recommend you to go to be honest....the work really does pile up after a while and may need that extra bit of help to explain stuff.

Especially for Micro....the tutorials are a god-send for that.
