Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ahh lads.

If you told me at half time we would win 4-0 with Rooney x2, Berba and Owen scoring i would have told you to get out of my dreams.

Not on easy finish on his left foot at a difficult angle !

    Lovely goal !

Well this game couldn't have gone much better

Fergie must have had a few words at half time, cos it wasn't happening in the first half

The perfect result with perfect goalscorers/assisters...

However, Im very worried at carricks absence, i hope it was an injury that kept him out.

5 0 nani from a free kick, I was just about to say he's no Ronaldo after his last effort ended up in row z

A good day for the Goal difference.

Nani free kick, back of the net, followed by his usual back flip thingy :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Sweet free kick. Though Kirkland may have raised the white flag.

Scoreline is fairly misleading at this stage.

Good game. Wigan gave in after the first went in.

Berbatov MOM for me, was at the heart of everything today really. One of his best performances in a United shirt.

Special note to Foster who was absolutely great today whenever he was called upon.

I'm finding it hard to not rub this in more to ABU's but meh can't be bothered.

Great 2nd half. Confident boosts to people like Foster, Berbatov, Rooney, Nani and of course Michael Owen. That's how you respond to a defeat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,772 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

Well that was nice to watch. A much much better performance, Fletch really made a difference hussling their midfield and doing a lot of the hard yards.

If you ask what we would have wanted before the game:
    Clean sheeet - check
    A win - check
Strikers to score - all 3 check, Owen comes on and gets a goal
    Decent performance - check
    Wingers assists - check

Nani showed he can take over free kicks. Vidic gets game time and looked his usual commanding self (lol at Rodallega going after him, your deathwish my son!). Foster made some good saves and with every game will grow in confidence.

Couple of concerns for me were Scholes, on the ball he looked ok but physically i think his age is showing (maybe being a bit picky here?) and Evans injuries dont look like going away.

    Excellent performance!

Thought the team looked well balanced and its hard to single out a MOM but Id prob flick a coin between Rooney and Berbatov.

LOL at people having a 'go' at scholes again today. It was PHB after the Birmingham game and I read a couple of others today at half time. The man still has it and thought he had a very good game again today.

That will do our confidence a world of good and that Owen finish deserves even more credit than its received already. What a fantastic finish!!!!!

    ****ing delighted

After the misery that was tuesday they responded the right way.:)

that Owen finish deserves even more credit than its received already. What a fantastic finish!!!!!

It was a special goal all right, his movemnet was exceptional. Now we need him to do that when we really need a goal to really boost his confidence, I think Owen could well get 15 to 20 goals this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,533 ✭✭✭Zonda999

Fupp sake, watched the first half, then had to head away. What a half of football to miss! Was nervous coming back to the computer for the result!

Sounds great though. Cant wait for MotD later now!:D

Well done Michael Owen, that goal should give him a world of confidence!:)

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,588 ✭✭✭jaykay74

Utd should avoid rotating fletch and berba out of the starting lineup imo. Owen will hopefully settle into his role of 20/30 min sub against tired legs and minds. don't want to see Owen start any matches against the better teams. at least not yet.
