Java JTable

Hi guys, me again looking for some help! I am putting a java gui on a database project that I have been working and for one of the forms in it I need to create a table which shows information from one of the tables in the database. I then need to make it so it is possible to highlight a row in the table and then fire and event to the database when it is highlighted. So my question is

1. is it possible to do this?

2. If so where abouts do you guys think I can find some programming tutorials on it.

That's really not particularly helpfulll.
