The wife is constantly forgetting her passwords and usernames, have installed her mSecure so she can always have them there. sure its premium but it suits her. also syncs with dropbox as well. i know there are other apps similar and probably free or cheaper but just throwing it out there

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mseven.msecure&hl=en

was available for Amazon a while back and used some of her 1000 free coins to get it for her.

I use SafeInCloud - great investment, and the free desktop app is a huge plus.

Another option for password management is LastPass.
It has free + premium versions, and works with almost everything, Firefox, Chrome, Android etc...

    +1 for Lastpass

    +2

It works out at about a dollar a month for the paid version. For that I have secure passwords for dozens of sites across home and work laptop, phone and tablet.

If you have the paid version you need to install the Dolphin browser and get the Lastpass addon that works similar to the Chrome one on your desktop

The addon or LastPass in general?
I think the LastPass Android app can draw over other apps to make it really easy logging into websites on Android, but I don't know as I'm too cheap to pay for premium :P

Yes it does, but I disabled it quickly as it eats battery. Could be improved now though

Drippler - a news aggregator which gives you news, guides, tips and tricks for your device (which it detects when it launches).

Been using it for a while, and it's fairly good. It doesn't get new stories as quickly as say flipboard or feedly, but it's nicely laid out and I've discovered a few apps through it.

Easily done on the pc with Calibre, there are a few apps that easily sync with it wirelessly

Not an android app but Calibre will convert just about anything.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,553 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

If the PDFs have lots of images mixed in with the text, I find that they don't convert to epub/mobi very well. If the PDF is all text, you will get better results.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

Calibre is class for sure, I use it all the time. Just don't always have access to my PC in order to convert over PDFs to MOBI for my Kindle:o

Just google "convert x to y online" and you'll find a solution to everything basically, for documents and ebooks anyway. Dont install any software if they ask, just move on.

Discovered "MapMyWalk" a day or two ago, for clocking evening constitutionals with the Missus. It's quite knacky, but I'd say you'll want to change the default voice-over for something a little less Kansas Mom and more Fiona Bruce! :pac:

Looks alright but Strava is easily the king imo, ridiculously well designed app and website and no fear of them going bust and losing your history:

Heh, MapMyFitness (company behind MapMyWalk/Run/Ride) is two years older than Strava, and it's owned by Under Armour (2013 revenue: $2.3bn). I'm pretty sure it's not in danger of going bust anytime soon :)

Personally, I prefer MapMy*, it lets you create routes without needing GPS, so you have a record of where you ran, even if you don't bring your device with you

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

Why do you want a record of where you ran?

To keep an accurate track of your distance, times and splits?
Kinda a necessity in any kinda distance sport.

?? If you don't bring your device with you how to you get an 'accurate track of your distance, times and splits?'

Why do you want a record of where you ran?
The route you took, as opposed to just recording distance and time. With MapMyRun, you can map out a route on Google Maps, and then log workouts against that route. You can look up that route and see how many times you've done it, and what times you've set. You don't need to have a GPS device, you can just record how long it took you.

I'm using Chomp SMS, love it. You can get text popping up, even over the lock screen, so you don't have to leave an app etc to reply

Hello SMS is the one I'm using at the moment. You can disable the referral features in the settings which makes it 10x better.

Don't suppose there's any way to unify texts to one spot? As in all whatsapp, viber and sms texts get pulled together in one app?

That would be sweet. Closest thing that comes to mind is the Contacts+ app, but that's more about showing multiple feeds from your contacts rather than just messages.

Good luck finishing Metal Slug with a touchscreen!

Get yourself one of these, great investment, I paid 20 dollars for mine on Dealextreme and I use it for more gaming than the 360, DS, and laptop put together:
