Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jaguar S-Type - Key Question

    Hi all,

My father has a 02 Jaguar S-Type Sport that he bought from the UK earlier this year. It came with 2 keys/fobs but one of them was dead and he was advised at the time by the last owner of the car that all he needed to do was to get a new battery put in it and have it reprogrammed.

He went to a dealer in Dublin and was told that he'd need an entirely new key/fob so he paid for this (€150). A few months later, the 2nd fob went dead and he went back and without even looking at the key/car, was told he'd need another new fob @ another €150.

Is this the norm, or can the batteries not simply be replaced and the existing fobs reprogrammed as he was originally advised by the last owner?

The cheapest thing to do here is replace the battery and see if it works.
