Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
Want to ask does anybody knows what to do when car insurance company resist to give out original letter about no claim bonuses?

    My story:
I cancelled Quinn direct car policy to have cheaper one in 123 insurance company.
so quinn direct sent me out all papers includeing letter with no claim bonuses.
I ,as it was asked from 123 insurance, posted it to them, but that letter was lost.

So i went to quinn direct and asked for one more coz the letter was losted.
They told me that they cant give me second time originals, coz by companies policy they dont do this and agreed to give similar letter about all information on it as needed.

problem is 123 insurance dont want to accept it and insist on to receive complete originals, otherway they are about to cancel my conterct with them.

HOW TO DEAL WITH THAT SITUATION and HOW TO MAKE QUINN DIRECT TO GIVE ME ORIGINAL NO CLAIM LETTER SECOND TIME?

Could it helped if i would go to gard and asked them to make garda request about claim bonuses from quinn direct?

Insurance ombudsman (Financial Regulator), but your complaint will be weakened slightly by the fact that Quinn include a copy of the NCD cert with your renewal (the one An Post lost on you). They may not have any standard system for reprinting this.

Guards won't be able to do a thing, its not a criminal matter.

do so research on the net about who the chairman is, and the directors
email them, call them ask for there emails
then send them a long ar*e email about the situtation and how you as a customer will take this to the ombudsman and the Press if you have too.

you should find this will sort it, as chairman's and directors dont like to be disturbed from there golf game by us customers!! they should hand it to someone who will get back to you, find as many of the top brasses email address as you can and send them all a email.
ive done this in the past with travelodge, and got €200 voucher after a complaint to them..
    it works!!!

make a data protection request for all information Quinn have on you, it'll cost you EUR6.30.

Make written request to 123 asking to explain how sensitive customer data got lost. Ask for a copy of their procedure for verifying all mail received.

You'd be surprised how many places cannot reprint documentation. Their systems simply will not allow it. I don't know though if that is the case with Quinn.

Ring the Financial Regulator and ask for guidance on this. Quinn will either have to provide a new NCB cert, or 123 will have to accept the second letter. Either way, you should not be caught out.

Documentation can be reprinted very easily, they may charge you for it though. I'd ring back and ask to speak to a manager. Insist that you need this documentation because you will be without insurance if they don't provide it and then you will go to the Ombudsman...

Thanks for advice, i guess i going to do this. But before ill will ask them one more time, and if their action still going to be negative, ill ask them to sign in written form that they refusing to give me ncd for whatever reasons. Its just for to keeping any proof or evidence for further action.

I hope that situation turns out o.k.
Just pity that obviously quinn are interested in that way to left me without of much choices and expecting me to turn back for insurance with them...
no way i going to do that.

I will keep in mind that.
i guess have to be first who offer them to pay for reprinting
pretty sure they wouldnt be doing first move.

Not always. I know from experience with the software my employer makes that some printoffs cannot, ever, be recreated exactly after their initial run. Its not uncommon in industrial/specialist software.
