The band will return and be renamed The Late Late Show Band. It will also include some new members.
For tonight only, they will be joined by the RTE Concert Orchestra to play the new theme tune - a re-working of the brilliant track by Chris Andrews.

    See the original tune here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APeLX8eq7yg
It's actually a very catchy song and the distinctive instrumental section is brilliant. I'm glad to see this is returning at least.

Hopefully he gets up for a tune :D

Tickets? Late Late Show audience "members" are "recruited" like the humans in Planet of the Apes.

Someone in RTÉ obviously read my post from a few pages back! "To Whom It Concerns" was like the owl, part of what made the Late Late Show, although I can understand why Kenny wanted to distance himself from it.

does anyone know if and when the Late Late Show will be repeated. Monday night is it? Me ma is going hillwalking tonight and wants to know, and can't work a VCR (or mobile phone). Such a good son I am :D

Personally I think Ryan will be a breath of fresh air. He is brilliantly entertaining and effortlessly amusing. I have met him a few times and found him very genuine and accomodating.

I for one wish him the best of luck and many more happy Late Late years to come! :D Hope he can ignore the usual begrudgers that he will come up against.

Are you his daughter or something? Brilliantly entertaining is a massive overstatement.

Its my opinion Antifa so therefore not an over statement

    Here.
But I don't think you can choose the date you go on. So you could get picked for a show with sh*te guests.

I'm looking forward to tonights show though!

I got tickets to Tubridy Tonight a few times, just had to fill in a few forms and email them back, you may get a call then to be asked to take part in a game or something!

Im looking forward to it too :D

Half an hour to go! Whoop whoop

I can't wait to see Tubridy to do his patronising act again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,060 ✭✭✭Denisejcc

I think he is the complete opposite of patronising, he is empathetic and natural.

He'll be great, wait and see :D

Oh my god, thank you!!! I had no idea!!!!

Right, my plan is to watch the start of it to see if he falls on his arse or anything, and then I'll flick between it and South Park until Wossy starts.

    But seriously...BIFFO'S on?!

Maybe in your eyes Denise. But the general feeling is that he's CRAP!

I reckon he will do a good job. It's not as if he has a hard act to follow. I just hope that he brings back an element of controversy to the LLS. During the Gay Byrne era, the show covered controversial issues such as divorce, contraception, homosexuality and got the nation talking/debating. Controversy disappeared completely during Pat Kenny's reign. I also hope Tubridy does not take Kenny's softly softly approach when interviewing, especially with Biffo tonight.

Hmmm, its not though, he always had great ratings for Tubridy Tonight but yet nobody would admit to watching him!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::D

Seriously though, I would give my left breast to see him fall on his arse when he runs onstage...

I met him once and he was absolutly lovely. Hes much better than Kenny at the old presenting but no one will be as good as Gay Byrne, it's what we were all raised on!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,139 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

    Sorry :(

I take that back now, cos he did look really nervous in that bit after the weather.

I was just worried hie was going to come out all cocky and giddy.

THEME TUNE - not too bad but honestly it was a bit slow tempo and weak. The crowd clapping in the background was exciting though.

Looking forward to seeing Tubs on this show, will make it more watchable than boring Pat Kenny/Wenger.

Best of luck Ryan.Great to see Irish tradition being kept alive.

Oh here comes Beefo.Grill em Tubs.

Are you related to Tubby McSkinny?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,139 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

I have found a lot of respect for Tubs in the last 30 seconds.

"What to you take blame for?"
    "Whe- we didn't foresee-"
"What. Do you. Take blame for?!"

    I love you Ryan!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,060 ✭✭✭Denisejcc
