Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My name is Rory, and my ma occasionally calls me,

    "Rorsy Porsy"

Sometimes she uses the full nickname:

    "Rorsy Porsy puddinsie pie".

    Any other good ones?

My dad's name is Con. My name is Conn. To differentiate between the two of us my mum decided to call me 2 n's. I shít you not.

I find adding a 'y' to the name in some way is a rather popular choice.

My Mam calls me (insert real name)y drawers. Not cool at all!

My mammy normally goes through the rest of my sibling's names before getting to my name in a flutter, normally not realising she's called me by my little sister's name. Does that count?

I must be thinking of a whole different "badass".
I was expecting something like Killer or Sharky.

    Rorsy Porsy isn't badass, it's whopped-ass.

Dad calls me 'Home Economics' cause my Home Ec food always came home perfect, but couldn't actually cook an egg!!!

10 years out of school and it still gets used occasionally

My mum, in fact my whole family, add "aroonies" to the shortened version of my name. Have done for as long as I can remember. My sister gets "poo" after the shortened version of her name so I guess I should be grateful. :pac:

    Ronan

She just drops the second syllable, kinda lazy if you ask me.

    "son of a bitch"
So your mother is basically slagging herself off by calling you that!

    I'm called 'arse'.

No idea why it stuck, but my whole family realised I responded to it more than my actual name(s).

    Nothing like a mothers love eh? Slight variation of my own;

"Sarcastic little bitch" or "sarky bitch" for short. I always use the opportunity to remind her I could be picking out her nursing home someday.

My mam calls me Julia  It's no where near my real name

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,945 ✭✭✭D-Generate

My mum calls me Toby for no real reason. Its not even close to my real name.

My old man calls me "Little ****e"..... suppose in reflection Toby ain't so bad.

Either way I can't remember in recent memory being called by my actual name at home any time.

:D I had an irish teacher who called her whole class dildos once. And then didn't understand why everybody doubled over laughing.

Difficult to make a nickname out of my name, so my mum just refers to me as Colm.
