    Hi folks,

Usually put my cocker in the boot of the car but have a baby on the way so the buggy is going to go into the boot so can't have the dog in there anymore.

Does anyone know where I could get a decent sized carrier that would sit in the back seat? Dog is a cocker spaniel so isn't too big but I think I could have problems finding a carrier that will have enough room for her and fit in the back door of the car.

    Hi Lemlin,

Instead of a carrier would you consider a seatbelt?
I bought one from the pet shop in the Westend (blanchardstown) for a medium it costs €18 and you can get it in different colours.

I had a carrier for my dog but she hates it so bought this instead & its great. Soft on her body, keeps her tied to the chair and its a lot safer (IMO) than a carrier because the dog harness uses the functionality of the seatbelt. ie pulls it back more if senses the dog going forward etc.. rather than the dog being thrown about in a carrier.
i hope you know what i mean! :)

I attach some info with different versions available online

I'd prefer a carrier tbh because my dog can be quite boisterous.

Seat belt harnesses are great if the dogs quiet but because your fella in bouncy you have to be able to keep an eye on the road so a crate is a good option, it's secure and easy to fold up etc.

Check out zooplus.co.uk (cheaper than the zooplus.ie site) and also a good pet shop will be able to order you one in the black ones with the metal tray and good and strong, haven't tried a zooplus one but they usually have reviews under their products so worth checking out.

Argos do crates as well but not sure how strong they are.

Also check out cilldara.ie they also do the stronger crates.
